Apple iPhone XS Max Vs Google Pixel 3 XL Vs Samsung Note 9 Vs LG V40

This article is for those people who love phones with big screens. Google has launched the Pixel 3 with 5.5 inches and Pixel 3 XL with the 6.3 inches display. The Pixel XL has the camera prowess and raw internal power to rival the Galaxy Note 9, LG V40 ThinQ, and iPhone XS Max.
On the other hand, the LG V40 ThinQ sports three rear cameras, while the Pixel 3XL includes only a single rear lens. But, taking a cue from the LG, the Pixel 3XL has added a second 8-Megapixel, front-facing, wide angle lens for selfie shots. So, which one of these smartphones is going to rule the market? Let’s find out –

Screen Size and Clarity

As far as the screen size is concerned, the iPhone XS Max has the largest screen out of the four phones. It features a 6.5-inch display. Both Galaxy Note 9 and V40 have 6.4 inches display while pixel 3Xl comes with a display of 6.3 inches. But, when it comes to pixel density, the winner is the LG V40, which has the highest pixel density than the others.

3 Rear Cameras Vs 1

All the four smartphones come with AI camera software. The Note 9 and V40 automatically change the settings when they sense one of almost 20 scenes at a time like the blue sky or the pets. On the other hand, the iPhone XS Max and V40 use the ultra digital lightning effect to take the images.
The Pixel 3XL can take up wide-angle selfies and it promises to give crisp, low-light photos, which do not require any flash. Its camera also provides an excellent digital zoom.
Now, Google also seems to feel that a second lens does make a difference and greatly improves the functionality of the front-facing camera.

Inbuilt Onboard Storage

A 64GB of internal storage was once considered more than enough. But, now, Google and LG are providing 64GB of internal storage to start with. The Galaxy Note 9 is providing the 128GB at its lowest-priced model.
Moreover, there is an option to pay more to get 512GB inbuilt onboard storage. But, that model does not include the 512GB of external storage option to add the SD card.
Apple, on the other hand, is providing three storage options in the iPhone XS Max – 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB, with no option to expand it further. The LG V40 ThinQ is giving you an option to expand the storage up to 2TB.
Google, on the other hand, offers a maximum 128GB in total, but gives you unlimited online image storage with the help of Google photos.

Battery life

Comparing the battery life or run time on a single charge for different phones is not easy, as a multiplicity of factors can affect it. Contrary to popular belief, the size of the battery or its capacity (mAh or milliamp hours) is not the sole determinant of battery life.
Other factors like the efficiency of the phone’s base level software in managing resources, how much you are using the phone, etc., can also affect the battery life of your smartphone.
For example, the capacity of the LG V40’s battery is smaller, as compared to the Note 9 and Pixel 3XL. But, its battery can keep the phone running through a normal day.
The iPhone XS is reportedly fueled by a 3179-mAh battery. But that’s still less than what most Android flagships offer – from 3,500 to 4,000 mAh.

Extra Features

All the four smartphones come with features like waterproofing and wireless charging. The Note 9 also has its S Pen Stylus while iPhone XS Max can boast of its FaceID, portrait lightning mode, and the Memoji.
The V40, on the other hand, has five cameras. The Google Pixel 3XL offers incredible zoom option and claims pin sharp photos even in low light conditions.

Price and value

The LG V40 and Pixel 3XL are the least expensive smartphones, but their prices may differ among different stores. In the US, the LG V40 costs somewhere between $900 to $980.
If you are willing to spend a few more bucks, you could get a phone with a stylus or a longer battery life period, i.e., the Samsung Note 9. You can also go for the iPhone XS Max by visiting Apple’s customer service at its retail outlets.
The Google Pixel 3XL, on the other hand, is available at a price of $900 for the 64GB model and $1000 for the 128GB model.
