Robyn Denholm becomes new boss of Tesla and Elon Musk

Finally the search for the new chairperson of Tesla has ended and the board of directors have chosen the name of Robyn Denholm to sit on the hot seat. Denholm has replaced the company’s founder Elon Musk with immediate effect.
Denholm is currently working as the CFO and head of strategy at Australian telecommunications company Telstra.  She will leave her current post and Telstra once the six-month notice period with the company ends. She is one of the two female directors on Tesla’s nine-member board since 2014.
“I believe in this company, I believe in its mission and I look forward to helping Elon and the Tesla team achieve sustainable profitability and drive long-term shareholder value,” Robyn Denholm said.
Previously, Tesla founder Elon Musk had agreed to step down as the chairman for three years to settle the lawsuit against him by SEC for misleading investors through his ‘funding secured’ tweet.
About the new boss, Musk said, “Robyn has extensive experience in both the tech and auto industries, and she has made significant contributions as a Tesla Board member over the past four years in helping us become a profitable company. I look forward to working even more closely with Robyn as we continue accelerating the advent of sustainable energy.”
