Bengaluru, 18 January 2019: In the run-up to Republic Day, Flipkart, India’s largest e-commerce marketplace, will be running a  fundraising and awareness campaign with the Vasantharatna Foundation for Arts (VRFA) to honour the families of martyred Indian soldiers. VRFA works to provide a continuous and holistic support system for  the families, via empowerment workshops, counselling, legal assistance etc. Visitors to Flipkart’s website and app from January 18th to 26th will have the opportunity to donate funds to the Foundation.

This initiative will give the Foundation access to Flipkart’s pan-India user base of 150 million and will allow those shopping on the platform to contribute to a good cause. It will aid VRFA’s continuing work towards women’s empowerment, child and youth development, and general awareness building within the civilian community.

We are hopeful of being able to bring some meaningful impact to the families,” said Rajneesh Kumar, Chief of Corporate Affairs at Flipkart.
