United States will remain the superpower despite China’s economic and military strength

As a result of China’s rise, the United states is being replaced as the world’s dominant superpower. The recent rise of Communist China, exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as Donald Trump’s policy of alienating allies in NATO, has played a significant role in pushing this narrative forward. By 2028, China will surpass the United states as the world’s largest economy and will become the global economic powerhouse. With increased spending on weapons technology and the development of several secret weapons, China is on its way to overtaking the United states in military power.

Although China is poised to become a superpower sooner or later, the question is whether it can ever rival the United states in terms of economic and military power. During the Cold War, the Soviet Union somewhat matched American military power and alliance leadership when it competed with the US for superpower status. Soviet power, however, could never compete economically or culturally with US dominance at its peak.

In the same way that the Soviet Union faced several geopolitical and cultural challenges in the past, China is facing several challenges now before it can reach the status of a global superpower like the United states . Despite its economic and military power overtaking the United states, China can’t expect the same respect and acceptance worldwide. Comparing the democratic United states to a Communist China, a democratic US always has an ideological, political, and cultural advantage.

United states

One-party Communist country

Despite growing rapidly on the economic front, China is still a Communist one-party state. There has been a dramatic increase in the closeness and centralization of politics. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party. During the Chinese Political Science Association’s 90th anniversary celebration in Shanghai in 2011, I was privileged to attend an invitation-only meeting. China opened its door to a multiparty electoral system in the open discussion of many top Chinese political scientists. China under Xi Jinping makes such discussions almost impossible.

There is no doubt that China is a powerful state with a powerful party bureaucracy, but its politics have the potential to be quite fragile. The spark that ignites a political upheaval cannot be predicted in a closed system. A multinational billionaire or the head of Interpol can go missing without explanation in this country. The opportunities that open societies can offer to Chinese millionaires have led hundreds of them to live abroad to protect their wealth from future uncertainty.

The Chinese government spends heavily on higher education, yet 600,000 Chinese students go abroad every year to pursue their studies. While China’s economy has thrived for decades, 10 million Chinese have moved abroad in search of jobs, while 51 million foreigners have come to the United States to find better jobs and better living conditions.

Tough neighborhood

American politics are resilient to destabilizing forces, despite its ongoing political troubles. This kind of trust remains elusive to China. Although China’s political system has existed for some time, it does not enjoy the same level of trust and confidence as does the American system. As China competes to become the global superpower, this won’t help it gain respect from other nations.

China is also not as favored by geopolitics as the United states is. The surrounding countries of China are powerful and competitive, unlike those of the United states. There is a dream of becoming a superpower among at least two of them, Russia and India. Many border disputes remain between China and these countries. The Chinese government cannot freely conduct political and military activities in other parts of the world as does the United states.

Additionally, China lacks powerful and trusted allies due to its location in a tough neighborhood. As a result of the Cold War, the democratic US has developed strong relations with many regionally powerful countries, such as the UK, Germany, Japan, and Australia. India, for example, adds new allies to that list. Conversely, China’s only significant ally in the world is Russia, which has many contradictions and has not proven its worth. China’s combined military, economic, and political strength will be difficult to surpass in the future, compared to the US and its allies.

The United states stands firm

It is unlikely that China will pose any serious challenge to the United states as the global cultural superpower. Its democracy and freedom, as well as its influence on the arts, music, and media, provide it with an ideological advantage over the United states. Immigrants make up the United states , and their cultures and ideas enrich the country. Despite this, China remains a closed country. Mandarin is almost impossible to replace English as the world’s language.

Taking the lead position in the global power race will always be a struggle for China. It will have limited superpower status, similar to that of the Soviet Union. When the United states avoids self-sabotaging acts as it did in the last four years, it can hold its own in this competition.

Why superpower America’s army is afraid of China

Nancy Pelosi to Visit Taiwan: The United states military has expressed concern over Nancy Pelosi’s planned visit to Taiwan. China may view this as a provocation, the US military fears. According to experts, China may respond to this visit with fighter jets.

Nancy Pelosi’s proposed visit to Taiwan has angered China. Nancy Pelosi was threatened with a military response if she traveled. According to the United states military, President Joe Biden warned that the China threat is not the right one at this point. Pelosi is reportedly planning to go to Taipei with a delegation to show support for Taiwan in August. Biden’s warning is now being cited as evidence that America is afraid of the Chinese army, but experts believe that the PLA has a variety of reasons for fearing the superpower United states military. Let’s take a closer look at this issue.

According to experts, Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan will cause problems for both sides. Whether China acts or loses credibility is the only option it will have. Conversely, if Nancy Pelosi’s visit is rejected by the United States, Taiwan will no longer respect the United States. The Chinese are likely to counterattack Nancy if she goes to Taiwan. There will be tension if this visit takes place, but if it does not happen, then the United States will be viewed as bowing before the dragon, America believes.

Chinese President’s third term to be decided

Chinese President Xi Jinping is likely to feel very tense during this visit of Nancy Pelosi, according to experts. In the first 15 days of August, the Chinese President must face the veteran Communist Party leaders. His five-year term should be extended by Xi Jinping. A situation such as this would make Xi Jinping uneasy about appearing weak to America on Taiwan. Taiwan is believed to be being separated from China by an external force. Taiwanese ports were last attacked with missiles in the Taiwan Strait.

As a result of these actions by China, a two-ship battle group from the United States was sent there by President Clinton. During Nancy Pelosi’s visit, China may be able to take action against Taiwan. There is a high possibility of fighter jets infiltrating it. There have been many violations of Taiwan’s airspace by Chinese fighter jets in recent days. The President of Taiwan has been under considerable pressure to demonstrate his power as a result.

Taiwan may be the site of Chinese missile tests

Moreover, Chinese warships can be sent to Taiwan for exercises. According to Taiwanese researcher Chieh Chung, Taiwan’s capital Taipei and Hsinchu are the most likely targets for PLA fighter jets. Additionally, Taiwan can be tested for missiles by China. In 1995, China similarly tested missiles. In the area, there was a lot of confusion due to this. A killer missile was recently tested by China in the South China Sea.

Additionally, the United states military fears that China will monitor the flight path of Nancy Pelosi’s military plane. There are many possibilities, including South Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, or Malaysia. According to experts, Nancy’s visit does not convey China’s message in the current situation. Taiwan is very close to being captured by China if it attacks it. This should alert the United States and force Taiwan to increase its ability to defend itself.
