iDream Education launches TabLab for Schools – an effective way to use tablets for learning

iDream Education, a gurgaon based social edtech startup has been specializing on the best use of tablets for schools. Over the last four years, they have designed and fine tuned TabLab as one of the best ways of introducing digital learning to government schools and have worked with govt schools across ten states with digital content on tablets in Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Telugu and Tamil aligned as per state boards.

TabLab has been awarded by Google India for Impacting Change in School Education through Digital, thereby recognizing the deeper value that it brings to easy and regular usage of android based digital learning on tablets in a school setup.

On 21st Feb 2019, iDream Education launched TabLab with English Medium digital content for the best of future ready private schools.

Some special features have been added to the TabLab to customize it for use at the private schools in order to fine tune its relevance and usage for english medium students and as per the CBSE/ICSE curriculum.

They have taken an integral approach to tablet based learning by integrating different categories of content including animated lessons, inspiring stories, project videos, a rich digital book library and practice assessments together into the student tablet.

Along with multi category learning content, TabLab also offers some specially designed features like:

  1. An Auto Charging Tablet Trolley: This ensures very easy usage, safety & daily charging of tablets in schools. All the tablets get charged while locked inside the tablet cart from a single charging socket outside. Therefore the trolley becomes a plug and play digital tablet lab for the school with no additional infrastructure, wiring, furniture and electric fittings required.

  1. Offline Learning Platform with Multi Student Login: The learning platform in the TabLab is designed to work offline and multiple students can login into the tablets for learning basis class wise usage. The student wise usage is stored on the tablet and it auto syncs to a central reports dashboard for student wise and class wise usage and outcomes reports to teachers and school management

With these features, TabLab solves the practical challenges faced by schools in daily and high impact usage of digital learning, and therefore enable productive use of tablets in learning.

While sharing about the launch, Mr. Puneet Goyal, Co Founder of iDream Education shared that TabLab enables very easy adoption of student centric and enjoyable digital learning in a school environment. He said that the tremendous acceptance of Byju’s tablets directly by parents is a clear sign that parents are very keen to have personalized learning for their students. It’s time that the schools integrate tablet based learning and empower their teachers to become facilitators, looking at tablets as their personal assistants in simplifying their work to personalize learning for each child.

Parents buying retail tablets at homes is a good learning tool but it’s a parallel world since the school has no role in this and the teachers or coaching tutors are not in sync with what the student is learning on tablet at home. TabLab is an approach to see that the school and the teachers are integrated into the personalized learning solution that the student is using.

This approach can enhance the regularity of usage, facilitator’s guidance and increase the value and learning outcomes of the personal learning tablet that the student uses.

Therefore whether only for in-school use or to have personal learning tablets given by the school for at home use, TabLab can be one of the best ways to use tablets for personalize learning for the students in sync with the school and the teachers.
