Indigo Airlines Will Stop Serving Food To Passengers After Lockdown, As A Precaution.

There is a lockdown in India due to coronavirus. After the end of the lockdown and commercial passenger aircraft take off again, Indigo will repeatedly clean its aircraft properly, stop serving food in the aircraft for some time and shall carry maximum 50 percent of the capacity of seats available as passengers. 

In this context, the airline CEO Ronjoy Dutta said , “In situations such as these, companies do not manage growth or profit but manage the flow of cash. This means that our only focus is on cash flow. We are studying all our fixed costs and are looking for ways to reduce them. “

Dutta said that after the lockdown, IndiGo’s plan would be to first start services and gradually increase the capacity. We always take more care of safety and now with this ongoing crisis we have to take care of health as well .” Dutta said in an email to employees on Friday. Keeping this in mind, we are considering changing many of our processes. The new processes are not finalized yet, he mentions. They have also mentioned of taking measures to sanitize the planes even better and stop serving food items in the aircraft for some time. Hence, they will introduce  new procedures soon. “

India has implemented a 21-day lockdown to curb the coronavirus global epidemic. In addition, all domestic and international commercial passenger flights have been suspended for this period. However, the Indian aviation regulator DGCA has allowed cargo planes, off-shore helicopter operations, aircraft required to provide treatment and special flights during the bandh.
