AIB co-founders Tanmay Bhat and Gursimran Khamba removed from Amazon’s original series

The co-founders of All India Bakchod (AIB) and accused in a recent sexual misconduct case Tanmay Bhat and Gursimran Khamba have been eliminated from Amazon’s popular original series called ‘Comicstaan’ (season 2) and ‘Gormint’ respectively.
The decision seems to be a repercussion of the recent allegation against AIB as well as its both co-founder over emotional blackmail and concealing the company’s comedian Utsav Chakraborty accused in sexual harassment.
Both Gormint (a political satire) and Comicstaan (stand-up comedy competition television series) are created by talent and event management firm Only Much Louder (OML) for Amazon in partnership with AIB.
Comedian Kanan Gill, who was also accused of similar assaults, however, has been allowed on board to continue with Comicstaan 2.
Last month, Hotstar had cancelled the production of the third season of ‘On Air with AIB’. On Air with AIB features a wide range of satirical comedy content curated by the popular group.
The Indian streaming giant Hotstar had clearly said that it will not stand by anything that compromises the respect or safety of women.
The case cropped up in October when Bhat and Khamba were asked to step away from the company’s activity. After the #MeToo movement Chakraborty who was accused of the sexual harassment case had acknowledged and apologised to the victim publicly.
Bhat also made an apology to his followers.
Following their departure, Ashish Shakya, Rohan Joshi and other senior members of AIB will take on the responsibility.
The development was reported by Reuters and Gadget 360.
