Nationwide Coronavirus Lockdown in Delhi Declared By PM Modi, Failed on the fourth day itself!

  • The gathering started at the UP Gate Border in Ghaziabad on Saturday morning
  • Uttar Pradesh government arranged buses here and got people to go home
  • After this, people started gathering at Delhi’s Anand Vihar bus terminal.

To prevent the effect of coronavirus, there is a 21-day lockdown across the country, but on the fourth day this lockdown failed in the country’s capital. It started with Ghaziabad situated in NCR on Saturday morning. People wanting to return home started queuing at the UP gate border. Government of Uttar Pradesh and Delhi came into action. Buses were arranged and people were dispatched. By evening, a total of 400 buses of the Delhi and Uttar Pradesh government had been diverted from UP Gate Border of Ghaziabad and Anand Vihar in Delhi.

Nevertheless, till 9 pm, a crowd of around 17 thousand waited at the Anand Vihar bus terminal. The arrangements of the governments of the two states also proved inadequate. The police kept on appealing to keep distance from each other and move slowly, but this appeal seemed ineffective. This crowd belonged to people who are from Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan or Bihar and live in Delhi for livelihood. Due to the lockdown, they now have more concerns about their bread and butter as compared to the disease. Till late night, the movement of buses at the bus stand continued. Meanwhile, UP Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya tweeted and appealed to people to ignore the rumors.


Delhi government’s arrangements for those going to UP:
Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gehlot said in a tweet – Delhi government wants everyone to stay in Delhi. But for those who want to leave for UP, the Delhi government is making necessary arrangements. 570 buses of Delhi government will leave these people in the border of UP. It would have been very convienient if the UP government had sent its buses to take all these.

1 lakh people to reach Uttar Pradesh will be quarantined- Yogi

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held an emergency meeting with officials at his home. He instructed the officers that in the last three days about 1 lakh people who reached Uttar Pradesh from different states will be quarantined. The state government issued a statement in this regard. It said that those who have come to the Uttar Pradesh from other states within the last 3 days, their names, addresses and phone numbers have been provided to the district administration. These people will be kept in isolation. The administration will meet their daily needs along with their food arrangements.

DTC buses bring people to Anand Vihar

Workers living in several areas including Nagloi, Najafgarh, Narela, Mundka, Sadar Bazar, Kashmiri Gate of Delhi are migrating from Delhi. DTC buses stopped boarding of passengers other than those engaged in essential services from 25 to 27 March, leading to workers moving towards Uttar Pradesh on foot. On Friday, the Delhi government rescued the pedestrians from DTC buses to the UP border, due to which around 17 thousand people have gathered there. At the same time, the UP government has made arrangements for roadways buses but they too are proving to be inadequate. This type of congestion can be fatal among the coronavirus epidemic.

Arrangement for food of 4 lakh people but they are not stopping: Kejri
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said that the arrangement for eating for 4 lakh people has been started in Delhi, but people are not stopping. He has appealed that no one will have any problem with food or essential items, wherever they are. At the same time, Delhi BJP President Manoj Tiwari tweeted – Kejriwalji, you have brought people from DTC buses on the Delhi border, but we request you to give 15 days ration to every family and these people should be sent to their homes in Delhi through the same buses, otherwise, it will become a serious problem. Meanwhile, Delhi’s Social Welfare Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam reached Anand Vihar Border in his car and announced that the Delhi government is arranging their food and drink for those who were staying back.
