Dabri Mod In Delhi Is Becoming New Wuhan

 

Dabri Mod is a posh locality in South West Delhi Of India is becoming a new Wuhan, Dabri Mod has a population of around 10,000 People and is located near janakpuri, one of the most populous locality in west & south west delhi. There is a fruitmarket and a vegetable market near dabri mod metro station around 200-250 meters away from Magenta line and also houses a illegal meat market running since last several years.

Many locals residing here have made several complaints to MCD, DDA, Delhi Police and several politicians for the removal of this illegal and unauthorized mandi.
Our Journalist also got to know about one such complaint and we thought to visit the place personally and talk to people.

The scene looks very terrifying, the entire area is filled with very bad smell of meat and fish, it basically is a home of wet market giving a nostalgia of Wuhan the birth place of Corona which had been declared a global pandemic even by WHO, the disease which killed several people in almost all the countries of the world and affected millions and has once put the entire world behind lockdowns on global basis.

While talking to one of the local we came to know that this matter has been several times reported verbally as well as in writing even to the MP Pravesh Verma and almost all the time he has assured of some action but even after 8 years, no action has been taken.

When we decided to explore more, we saw many more issues.
There has been a court cased filed by the RWA dabri mod in the district court Dwarka where a judge while passing an order clearly stated that this is just a temporary market allowed to only the fruits and vegetable sellers, there is no provision that this market can be occupied by the Meat sellers.

We personally visited the inside of the market and saw that there is no proper arrangement of decomposing the waste of the meat, the water used to wash the meat after slaughtering is freely flowing out of the mandi and reaches the home of all the residents after sticking to the footwear and even the car tyres.

The meat pieces are also thrown here and there which are being eaten by Rats at night and these rats burrows the homes of people and goes to their homes during the day.

This market is based in a residential society which the entire residents of dabri mod is facing several health issues.
The people coming to the market to buy the meat parks their cars illegally causing a traffic jam almost everyday.

As per the government rule there can not be any slaughtering of animals in any residential area especially if the area also has any hospital, school, temple etc and dabri mod is just an opposite to everything.

Dabri mod has a government school just adjacent to the meat market, it also houses several hospitals including orchid hospital, dada dev maternity hospital and a temple and mosque within 200 meters of range.

The more shocking fact is that dabri mod meat market comes under 7.2 KM of International Airport at Palam and as per DGCA rule, No meat market or slaughtering could be done within 10 KM radius of Airport.

The market also becomes a hub of people playing cards, smoke weed, drink alcohol during night in the backside of the market.

The water deposited outside market also gives birth to the mosquito spreading killing diseases like Malaria, Dengue, Cholera, Diarrhoea, Dysentery, Hepatitis A, and Typhoid.

The water mixed with blood when reaches to residents home is also a big cause of several diseases like Anthrax, Bovine Tuberculosis Brucellosis, Salmonellosis, Listeriosis, Trichinosis or taeniasis.
Many people who are vegetarians also complained of hurting religious sentiments.

The people of Dabri Mod has now approached many media houses and demanded a very swift action on the same, they are living in a very terrible situation and an atmosphere where there could be an outburst of any deadly disease like Corona anytime soon.

The entire area is filled with smells and water and people have demanded a action asap or else they would be doing a protest.

From one angel after checking all the facts and figures ourself including the case people are the statement of the judge, it seems that many high profile people including top position holders in MCD, DDA, DGCA and even the politicians who are suppose to protect the rights of the people have become silent and mute.

One such resident also claimed that there is a huge money that goes from the meat sellers as bribe to all such people so that they do not take any action despite the court order, our reporter could not verify the claim but it looks that government employees and politicians are not at all willing or interested to protect the rights of the residents of the residents of common man and now no one can save dabri Mod from becoming the next Wuhan
