Ex-CJI Ranjan Gogoi may be BJP’s Assam CM candidate: Tarun Gogoi

Former CJI Ranjan Gogoi is assumed to become the BJP’s chief ministerial candidate in Assam in the Assembly election next year, veteran Congress leader Tarun Gogoi has alleged. He was the head of the benches that pronounced numerous critical judgments that include the Ayodhya land dispute case. 

The BJP, however, denied the former three-time state chief minister’s statement on Ranjan Gogoi who was nominated as a Rajya Sabha member by the President of India in March.

Assumptions made by the Tarun Gogoi for CJI Ranjan Gogoi

Suppose the former Cheif Justice of India could go to the Rajya Sabha. In that case, he can accept to be the upcoming chief ministerial candidate of the BJP in Assam, told Tarun Gogoi.

“I have discovered from various BJP sources that former CJI Ranjan Gogoi’s name is there on the list of BJP candidates for the chief minister’s position. I assume that he might be proposed as the next possible chief ministerial candidate,” he stated.

According to Tarun Gogoi, CJI Ranjan Gogoi has political ambitions too.

Ranjan Gogoi is the son of former Assam Chief Minister Kesab Chandra Gogoi, could have quickly become the chairman of the Human Rights Commission or different rights bodies. Still, he accepted the Rajya Sabha membership as “he has political goals too”, the Congress leader insisted.

“The BJP was delighted with CJI Ranjan Gogoi for the Ayodhya land conflict case verdict. It can’t be unexpected if he accepts to be the upcoming Chief Minister candidate for the BJP, Tarun Gogoi told on Saturday.

Ranjan Gogoi headed a bench that delivered the verdict on the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid conflict case that provided Hindus the 2.77 acres conflicted land for construction of Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir and guided that Muslims be granted a 5-acre property at a “prime location” to build a mosque in the city.

The Bhartiya Janta Party, however, did not confirm the report. They denied the statements released by the Congress leader.

“People say many insignificant things when they become very old. There is nothing true on what Tarun Gogoi said regarding the former CJI becoming the BJPs chief ministerial candidate for Assam,” the Bhartiya Janta party’s state unit president Ranjeet Kumar Dass replied.

Tarun Gogoi doesn’t want to be the ministerial candidate of the Congress.

Tarun Gogoi also said that he is not in a mood to be the chief ministerial candidate of the Congress for Assam. He would just contest the elections for the party. Rest, the party will decide. I can only act as a guide to the election procedure.

“I will participate in the elections but I will not be the chief ministerial candidate for the Congress party. There are various highly qualified candidates in the party for the position. I can only be a guiding unit or act as a mentor,” he told.

You can assume the grand alliance of the Congress, the Left, the AIUDF in Assam.

A familiar candidate can also be projected from the proposed ‘grand alliance’ including the Congress, the Left, the AIUDF, and other like-minded political parties, he stated.

CJI Ranjan Gogoi accepted the Rajya Sabha membership

After the Ayodhya land dispute case verdict, The Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi who passed the judgment on his last day of service was proposed the membership of Rajya Sabha by the President of India Ramnath Kovind. The CJI Ranjan Gogoi got retired after the Ram Janmbhoomi verdict. The BJP welcomed the decision and praised Ranjan Gogoi about the judgment. Therefore, the BJP led government asked him to be the member at Rajya Sabha to acknowledge him.

CJI Ranjan Gogoi’s verdict on the Ram Janmbhoomi conflict

CJI Ranjan Gogia headed the bench of the and included justices SA Bobde, DY Chandrachud, Ashok Bhushan, and S Abdul Nazeer.

The verdict pronounced that the Centre is required to allot a 5-acre plot to the Sunni Waqf Board for building a mosque. And, Hindus will be constructing the Ram Janmbhoomi on the disputed land.

In a 1024-page verdict, the Supreme Court directed that the mosque should be constructed at a “prime location” and a trust should be formed in the next three months for the construction of the Ram Mandir at the site where Hindus believe that Lord Ram was born.

The Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid conflict case was old for more than 100 decades and was no judgment was passed on it. But CJI Ranjan Gogoi gave a very sound verdict so that no religious emotion would be hurt. He cleared the ways for the construction of both Ram Mandir and Babri Masjid. 

The construction of Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir

On 5 August 2020, the Ram Janbhoomi Pooja was held at the Ayodhya Ram Mandir Janmbhoomi land. The pooja was headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath.

After so many controversies made by several political parties in the Ram Mandir Nirmaan due to the widespread of the pandemic COVID-19, the Bhoomi puja was held successfully.

The Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has said that the construction of Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir will be completed in the next 3 to 3.5 years.

The Ram Janambhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust is also looking ahead to take financial support from 10 crore families beyond the nation to construct the ‘bhavya ‘and magnificent Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

After the groundbreaking ceremony of Ram Mandir, there were many people who were appreciating the great achievement and the great day. Rest many people were tweeting hate comments like Mandir Ban Gaya ab Masjid ki Baari hai.

Few people from the Muslim community across the country participated actively in the construction of the Ram Mandir. There are daily controversies on the people who participated in the Ram Mandir Nirmaan. 

There were many controversies seen over the women worshipping Lord Ram on the Bhoomi Pujan. There were Fatwa released against them that are not a part of the Muslim community from now onwards and violated the rules and regulations of Islam.

Apart from all the hate that was spread across the country, we should be happy that the construction of Ram mandir was successful and now we are waiting for the Babri Masjid to be constructed.
