The tournament will be held in three cities, that is Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Dubai.

IPL Chairman Brijesh Patel revealed some facts about IPL 2020

Last week, the government had provided an “in principle” go-ahead to the BCCI to change the marquee league to the UAE due to increasing cases of novel Covid-19 in the nation.

“Yes, we have got all the signed consents,” Patel said PTI when asked whether the permission has arrived in writing from both the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

Patel, however, revealed a belief that a number of companies are interested in becoming IPL 2020 sponsors.

“It’s anything but a misfortune for Vivo pulling out, and there is currently a great deal of enthusiasm for title claims.” Whether an Indian company or anywhere else, whoever tenders the most gets the titles, we will conclude the whole process by August 18,” Patel stated.

The domestic tournament execution abroad needs formal approval.

When an Indian sports body turns to a domestic tournament outside the nation, it needs approval from External, Home, and sports ministries.

“Once we had the verbal confirmation from the central government, and we had suggested the Emirates Cricket Board. Now we have the documents also, so franchisees can be suggested that everything is in series,” an experienced BCCI official told PTI on anonymity situations.

Mandatory tests for IPL players in light of the pandemic

Most of the franchises will be traveling out after August 20 after two compulsory RT-PCR (Covid-19 tests) should be carried within 24 hours from their departure airport.

The Chennai Super Kings plans for IPL 2020

The Chennai Super Kings players and staff are going to leave on August 22 and will have a small camp at the Chepauk on the emphasis of skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

IPL 2020 sponsorship contracts and obstacles

The BCCI handles obstacles on the sponsorship aspect after calling off the title contract with Chinese mobile phone company Vivo for the current year due to large public outrage over the Sino-India border stand-off. After the conflict happened at the Galwan valley, India decided to boycott Chinese products. Therefore Vivo left the contract itself to maintain friendly relations with the IPL governing council. It was a healthy space supported by both of them.

It was a Rs 440 crore contract, and as BCCI looks at possible sponsors, as Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali has given the interest in becoming the new title sponsor. Patanjali will motivate the nation and support the Aatma Nirbhar Bharat campaign.
