All Set For The United States of America’s Presidential Election 2020!

The United States of America runs a presidential form of government. The president and vice president of the USA will not be directly elected by the citizens by voting themselves. Instead, the delegates who represent the upper house (Senate) and the lower house (House of Representatives) of the USA will vote in the presidential election for the selection of the president and vice president.

The presidential election in the USA takes place ones in every four years. Usually, the election falls on the first Tuesday of November. This year the presidential election is scheduled on 3rd November 2020. The presidential election 2020 will be the 59th quadrennial presidential election of the United States of America.

Competitors of The United States of America’s Presidential Election:

Joe Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris from the Democratic Party are taking part in the presidential election for the post of president and vice president. The duo competing with the nominee of the Republican Party, Donald Trump, and his running mate Mike Pence in the 2020 presidential election of the United States of America. Either Joe Biden or Donald Trump will become the president of the USA. Similarly, either Kamala Harris or Mike Pence will become the vice president of the USA based on the votes received from the delegates of the upper house members and the lower house members. Other parties like the Green Party and the Libertarian Party also take part in the USA’s presidential election 2020. However, the winning proximity is high for the Democratic Party and the Republican Party of the USA.

The Upper House And The Lower House Of The United States Of America:

The United States Senate is the upper house of the United States Congress and the Senate chamber is located in Washington, D.C. Two senators come from every state of the USA. So there are a total of 100 senators in the United States Congress for 50 American states. The current president of the senate is Mike Pence.

The United States House of Representatives is the lower house of the United States Congress. The House of Representatives chamber is also located in the United States capital city, Washington, D.C.  The total strength of the House of Representatives is 435 from various states of the USA. The total members in the United States House of Representatives are based on the population of each state. An American state with a high population will have the highest number of members from the state in the United States House of Representatives. For instance, California is the most populated state in the United States of America and in which the highest number of members will be a part of the United States House of Representatives.

The United States Congress constitutes the United States Senate, the United States House of Representatives and Washington, D.C. A total of 538 members form the United States Congress in which there are 435 members in the United States Senate, 100 members in the United States House of Representatives, and 3 from the Washington D.C. The delegates of the United States Congress will vote for the United States of America’s presidential election. A party that secures more than the 270 votes will be winning the presidential election. The new president and vice president will be the candidates of the winning party.

This year due to the COVID-19 pandemic the election voting process is expected to be done through mails.

The United States Of America’s Presidential Election Results:

The counting of votes and the official announcement of the winner will be declared by the president of the United States Senate on 6th January 2021 and the presidential inauguration will be on 20th January 2021.
