Rajasthan lockdown till 31 March; four cities of Gujarat also closed till 29; Half the staff will work in government offices here

  • Samples of 658 people were taken in the state till Friday, of which 593 reports are negative, 42 are yet to come.
  • In Bhilwara, people were asked to stay in homes, exempt only for essential goods


Six new infections have been reported in Rajasthan on Saturday. So far 23 cases have been reported in the state. Due to coronavirus, Rajasthan government has decided to lockdown the state from March 21 to March 31. Apart from essential services, all government and private offices, malls, shops, factories and public transport etc. will remain closed. In Gujarat too, 4 big cities have been locked down. Only essential goods shops and malls will open in Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara and Rajkot. Only half of the staff will work in government offices here. This rule will remain in force till March 29.

Doctors see about 5 thousand patients
In Bhilwara, the doctors and compounders who were found to be infected have been reported to have reached 5080 people in the hospital. All are being screened. Bhilwara is placed on high alert. Isolation wards of 400 beds have been built at 13 places in the city.

People will be able to leave at 7-10 am and 5-7 pm
The Bhilwara administration has asked people to leave the house between 7-10 in the morning and 5-7 in the evening to get goods for daily needs. Traffic on all types of vehicles has also been banned in the district.

Italy tourist dies
The first foreign tourist found infected with coronavirus in the country died during treatment in Jaipur on Friday. State Health Minister Raghu Sharma said- Italy’s citizen was a regular smoker. After Corona’s report came negative, she was shifted to Fortis Hospital for treatment of other diseases. Now the cause of death is found different from the corona.

Patients from Switzerland and America came to Jaipur
The report of a man returned from Switzerland in Jaipur and a woman returned from the US has been found corona positive. All have been admitted to isolation ward. The woman is said to be a resident of Vaishali Nagar. Coronaviruses in India have resulted in deaths in Kalburgi in Karnataka, Delhi, Mumbai and Nawanshahar in Punjab. All the deceased were over 60 years of age.
