July Tech Recap: A Look at the Major Smartphones Launched in India

In July 2023, the Indian smartphone market witnessed a flurry of new models, creating a highly exciting atmosphere for consumers. Renowned brands such as iQOO and Realme decided to concentrate on the mid-range segment, while Samsung and Motorola introduced groundbreaking foldable devices, intensifying the competition. A significant highlight was Nothing’s much-awaited second phone release, which generated considerable buzz.

iQOO launched the Z5, targeting the mid-range segment with its impressive specifications. The smartphone featured a 6.67-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and was powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset. It offered a versatile camera setup with a 64-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. The iQOO Z5 was equipped with a large 5,000mAh battery and supported 44W fast charging.

Realme also focused on the mid-range segment with the launch of the GT Master Edition. The phone featured a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and was powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G processor. It had a 64-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The GT Master Edition came with a 4,300mAh battery and supported 65W fast charging.

Samsung’s foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Flip 3, garnered significant attention for its unique design and innovative features. The smartphone featured a 6.7-inch foldable AMOLED display and a smaller 1.9-inch cover display. It was powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor and had a dual-camera setup with 12-megapixel sensors. The Galaxy Z Flip 3 came with a 3,300mAh battery and supported 15W fast charging.

In addition to the smartphone launches, Nothing’s ear (1) – Gen 2 also stood out as the tech startup released its second product. The earbuds offered improved sound quality and active noise cancellation, and their unique transparent design was well-received by consumers. The standout feature of the Razr 40 Ultra was its remarkable refresh rate of up to 165Hz, delivering buttery-smooth visuals and seamless interactions.

It packed a larger 4,700mAh battery with fast 45W charging support, allowing users to quickly recharge their devices and stay connected throughout the day.
