Linda Yaccarino steps up as new CEO of Twitter after serving for more than a decade in NBCUniversal as Head of Advertising Sales.

Linda Yaccarino is all set to replace Elon Musk as the new CEO of the famous microblogging site, Twitter, and would be taking up the charge in about 6 weeks.

The business magnate, Elon Musk, proclaimed his successor as the Former Head of Advertising NBCUniversal, through a tweet a few days ago.

Speaking up for the first time about her anticipated role, Linda Yaccarino exclaimed that she had been an avid supporter of Elon Musk and taken him as an inspiration.

She is now all set to transform the social media site to Musk’s vision of Twitter 2.0 from 23 June 2023, although Linda admits to not being so prolific as Musk is.

Yaccarino had already envisioned herself to be the Chief Executive Officer of Twitter, and had shared this dream with her friends. As her desire turns to reality, Linda Yaccarino is over the moon to kick-start her new role.

Born on 24 October 1962, Italian origin Linda Yaccarino, completed her Bachelors degree in Telecommunications from Pennsylvania State University.

The budding CEO of Twitter had previously been associated with NBCUniversal for more than a decade, before she resigned from her position as Head of Advertising Sales on 12 May 2023.

October 2011 saw her entry into NBCUniversal, and during her tenure the Peacock streaming service was launched with her pivotal contribution.

Linda Yaccarino started her career with, and, devoted 19 years of her life serving the Turner Entertainment, where she chaired the organization as the COO of ad sales, acquisition and marketing along with being the Executive Vice President. Yaccarino played a vital role in developing innovative marketing and advertising solutions.

In 2014, Yaccarino joined the Ad Council, and chaired the Board of Directors from January 2021 to June 2022.

In the year 2018, Linda Yaccarino was appointed to the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition by the 45th U.S. President, Donald Trump.

In 2021, Yaccarino created a campaign for Coronavirus Vaccine, by partnering with the administration of the current President of the United States, Joe Biden.

She also took charge of the Future of Work Task Force for the International Organization for private public cooperation, the World Economic Forum.

Recently, Linda Yaccarino had also been a host to Elon Musk during an advertising conference in Miami.

She has known Elon Musk for a long haul and had whimsically asked him in 2022 to stop tweeting after 3 a.m.

Even though, Twitter has faced review over its management with misinformation and hate speech, Linda has always supported Musk and once declared that the billionaire needs to be granted enough time to turnabout the company.

Now, Linda Yaccarino will be counted among the rare women to head a top-tier tech firm, after she rose steadily through the ranks in many of the major media companies of America.

Once the transition takes place, Musk would still oversee the products, sysops and software, and continue his role as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Executive Chairman of Twitter.

This development would also give Musk ample time to devote to his global fame Tesla Inc., the electric automotive company, as well as SpaceX, the spacecraft engineering firm.

Tesla had been seen to doing the price rounds with legacy automakers and upstarts, and had lost about 65 per cent of its stocks in 2022.

The clean energy company also traded down 2 per cent as markets fell, but gained a profit of 40 per cent this year.

Elon Musk had successfully acquired Twitter Inc. on 27 October 2022 at a deal of 44 billion dollars, after long initiation of the take over procedures starting 14 April 2022.

However, more than 80 per cent of the staff saw their exit in different arenas as Musk took to cost cutting and resource efficiency drives.

Twitter users found so many lags and deficits in the communications and backend developments thereafter. With the introduction of Twitter Blue, many of the users lost their legacy blue ticks, that was once considered as the verification badge of colossal prestige.

Earlier in December 2022, Musk ran a poll over Twitter, in which 57.5 per cent of the users voted for him to step down from his position as the CEO of the social media site, as his style of management often invited criticism from employees and consumers alike.

Following this, Elon Musk had remarked that he would call it a day as the CEO of Twitter if he finds someone foolish enough to preside over the office.

Since then, Musk had been on a hunt for a new chairperson for the San Francisco based social networking service.
