Is Siri On Upgradation As Apple Is Testing New AI Tech Amid Chatgpt’s Rise?

Siri, Amazon, and Google Assistant have all struggled to recognize different accents.

As the popularity of AI chatbots grows, Apple is experimenting with language-generating artificial intelligence Siri. For some years, the corporation has been known to be developing sophisticated AI capabilities, and it appears that they have taken a deep fascination with natural language processing (NLP) and creation. According to sources, the Cupertino-based tech behemoth recently hosted an internal session focusing on AI and massive language models. Experts predict that chatbot and voice assistant technology will merge in the future.

Since last year, when Microsoft-backed research group OpenAI launched ChatGPT, the chatbot has taken the globe by storm, being used by individuals and institutions alike for several activities ranging from composing high school essays to producing sophisticated programming codes. Teams testing language-generating ideas frequently include those developing Siri’s voice assistant.

What problems are encountered with Siri?

Long-time customers have claimed that Apple’s AI aide Siri does not grasp their questions. Even if individuals speak the same language, Siri and other voice assistants like Alexa and Google Assistant are unable to understand accents and phonetics from around the world. Siri, Amazon, and Google Assistant have all struggled to recognize different accents.

Apple Engineers Reportedly Working on ChatGPT-Like AI Despite Siri Design Flaws.

Former Apple developer John Burke, who worked on Siri, stated in an interview that Apple’s Assistant had evolved slowly due to “clunky code,” making it difficult to make even simple feature improvements. Furthermore, he stated that Siri had a massive database dump full of innumerable phrases and that engineers had to update the database every time they wanted to add capabilities.

Virtual assistants had more than a decade to establish themselves as necessary. But, according to the research, they were plagued by clumsy design and miscalculations, providing potential for chatbots to emerge. With the success of ChatGPT, Apple is intending to enter the AI race. But, the company did not speak about Siri.

Nevertheless, it is unclear if Apple is developing its language models or intends to use current ones. Tim Cook’s company, like Google and Microsoft, will not restrict itself to Siri-based chatbots. Because Apple has long claimed to be an advocate of artists and creators, it would stand to reason that advancements in language modeling would be applied to those fields.

Here are some inputs from the first player in ChatGPT.

Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella have blasted current voice assistants, calling them “as stupid as a rock.” With the capability for both image and text inputs, ChatGPT is now powered by GPT-4, the next-generation AI engine from OpenAI. They developed GPT-4, the next milestone in OpenAI’s endeavor to scale up deep learning, according to a blog post.

The competition from Google.

To compete with OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Google unveiled Bard last month. Bard is a new AI service that the company released to trusted testers before making it more widely open to everyone. However, in its trial mode only, ‘Bard’ gave some responses which were not correct as per the actual;l event. As a consequence of this, many Google employees claimed that ‘Bard’ was launched in a hurry to compete with ChatGPT, but did not succeed as planned.

NewsGPT launched.

The other domains where chatGPT is operating.

Additionally, NewsGPT, the first website that generates news stories exclusively using artificial intelligence (AI), is currently operational. NewsGPT, according to CEO Alan Levy, is a key differentiator. He stated in a statement, that for too long, news networks had been plagued by prejudice and biased reporting. They can give viewers the facts and the truth without any hidden goals or prejudices, thanks to NewsGPT. NewsGPT is exclusively available through the website newsgpt.ai and is currently unavailable as a mobile app.

Apart from this, Harvey AI is revolutionizing the legal landscape. Harvey AI is supposed to support staff workers in specializations like contract analysis,  litigation, due diligence, and regulatory compliance. The primary goal of this application is to produce preliminary versions of documents that lawyers may use as a starting point for revision and development.

Will these chatbots end up replacing the human race?

According to a recent survey conducted in the United States, ChatGPT has already begun to affect thousands of positions. Businesses in the US are currently utilizing this amazing idea for several purposes. With the economy slowing, it appears that this is an appropriate instrument to accomplish the work that was previously done by employees, saving thousands of dollars. But here’s the important thing: when computers arrived, the same controversy erupted; so, while this ultimate AI advancement is being claimed to affect millions of jobs globally, can it truly substitute human intelligence and judgment?

Will these chatbots replace the human race?

Despite this next wave of AI systems having reignited concerns about the technology’s potential to endanger millions of jobs, it does not appear that AI will ever replace humans. AI can only perform things that humans already do, but only humans can do things that no other human has ever done. As a result, while AI will not replace the human race, there is a need to reform the education system, which may now include the integration of ChatGPT and creativity, which is the supreme power of the human race.
