Queen of hospitality industries-Karyna Bajaj

Who would have ever thought that 25-year-old executive director of KA Hospitality, Karyna Bajaj will become one of the most celebrated and successful women entrepreneurs in India? Karyna is a graduate in Communication and Business Strategy has always been curious and interested in the hospitality industry. However, her passion led to her successful professional only when her father Kishore purchased fine-dine food chains of Asian food- Hakkasan and Yauatcha. It was during this time when she completely soaked herself in the understanding of every department of the company. She says;

“It taught me about all the troubles and challenges from the ground up,”

Beginning of KAHospitality

Just when Karyna Bajaj thought, she has gained enough information about all the company’s departments, she decided to break away from her father’s fine-dine format. She also devoted herself to know about the home-style and affordable Thai cuisine which Indians enjoy the most. It was then when she finally made up her mind to bring Nara from Bangkok to Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai. It was very soon that the blue butterfly pea rice, 12-layered crepe cake and a few more dishes from Nara became the highlights of Instagram and foodies. After getting unbeatable success from Nara, KA Hospitality is about to open its second one in Colaba, Mumbai. 

What next after Nara?

After enjoying the success of Nara in Mumbai, It was Karyna’s ideas to start something right from scratch and she opened Cincin. The wine was always something which fascinated Karyna and it was very soon that Cincin became the first-ever Indian restaurant to have its own and personalized wine label- Cincin Rosso with the partnership of Vallone Vineyards, Nashik. 

The young entrepreneur added;

“The casual dining format is here to stay. People want great meals, but not always in an environment that dictates how they should act.” “It’s gratifying to see Hakkasan and Yauatcha diners also pouring into Nara and CinCin.”

A role model of Karyna Bajaj

When Karyna Bajaj was asked about her role model in the food and hospitality industry, she said that Alan Yau the person behind the creation of Hakkasan and Yauatcha.
