Lockdown In Delhi??? Only 50 Guests Can Attend The Wedding! From November 18th, People Coming To Noida From Areas Such As Delhi Will Be Randomly Tested For COVID-19

Last week, Delhi contributed the most to the country’s fresh COVID-19 cases. Currently, there are more than 3,00,000 COVID-19 cases in the national capital.

Since October 28, the national capital has witnessed a sudden surge of COVID-19 cases when the daily rise exceeded the 5,100 marks for the first time, and it crossed the 8,100mark on November 11.

Last Wednesday, the national capital recorded the highest single-day spike of 8,594 coronavirus cases. Due to coronavirus infection, more than 100 people were deceased on Thursday, the highest in a day in five months.

CM Arvind Kejriwal Proposes Scaling Down Crowd in Weeding Functions and Gatherings to 50 only

Due to the surge in COVID-19 cases in Delhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is mulling to shut down markets that could become potential hotspots and has decided to withdraw the order allowing 200 guests and will order to allow only 50 guests to attend the wedding.

CM Arvind Kejriwal said that the Delhi government has submitted a proposal to Governor Anil Baijal to allow only 50 people to attend the wedding, compared with the previous limit of 200.

It is worth noting that the number of new coronavirus cases in Delhi has increased in the last few days.

According to reports, the government led by Arvind Kejriwal will send a new proposal to the center to seek permission to implement lockdowns across the market to control the rising COVID-19 cases.

The Chief Minister said on Tuesday: If crowds don’t decrease as the shopping areas have the potential of becoming coronavirus hotspots, a proposal will be sent to the central government to permit to close the markets.

The Situation in Delhi is ‘Worrisome’

NITI Aayog member Dr. V.K. Paul called the situation in Delhi as ‘worrisome’.

On November 15, a high-level meeting chaired by the Union Home Minister(Amit Shah) was held. Besides the senior officials, the Lieutenant-Governor and Chief Minister of Delhi also attended the meeting. He said that the situation in Delhi was reviewed and important decisions were made.

Last week, it recorded a single-day peak of 8,500 cases, while the total recorded was 51,000 cases. But Satyendar Jain, Delhi Health Minister, clarified on Monday that there is no plan to re-impose the lockdown.

Delhi will not re-impose the lockdown. I think this is not an effective step now; wearing a mask would be more beneficial. He added that Delhi has passed the third wave of infections.

However, two officials present at the meeting stated that at a meeting chaired by Union Home Minister of Amit Shah on Sunday, Dr. VK Paul of Niti Aayog reviewed the situation in Delhi and described it as ‘unprecedented’ and added that ‘the situation may get worse’.

At the same time, after meeting with Union Home Minister, the CM Arvind Kejriwal announced that the number of daily coronavirus tests will be increased to more than 100,000. Since October 20, there has been an escalation in cases here.

In addition to this, his government will send a new proposal to the center to seek permission to implement lockdowns across the markets to control the soaring COVID-19 cases, he said.

Why is the Minister of Health snubbing the surge in COVID-19 cases? Why can’t he accept that the situation in Delhi is worrisome?

Experts have even cited the continuation of the festive season, the onset of winter, and a rise in air pollution as the main reasons for the sudden spurt in coronavirus cases in Delhi.

Decisions Taken by the Government to Tackle the Situation

The center said on Tuesday that the government’s decision to respond to the surge in coronavirus infections in Delhi includes doubling coronavirus testing capacity to 1-1.2 lakhs and also increasing the number of ICU beds to more than 6,000.

Kejriwal also thanked the central government for helping the people of Delhi during such difficult circumstances and appealed to the people of Delhi to wear masks, and abide by the norms of social distancing.

In addition to this, in view of the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in Delhi, Suhas LY, Gautam Buddh Nagar District Magistrate said on Tuesday that people who come to Noida from the national capital will be randomly tested for COVID-19 from November 18, 2020.

According to the latest official data, Gautam Buddh Nagar has so far recorded 20,567 coronavirus cases. To date, the national capital region has witnessed 73 coronavirus-related deaths, and there are currently 1,238 active cases.

The district magistrate believes that the number of coronavirus cases in Noida and Greater Noida has increased due to cross-border infections from areas such as Delhi.

Therefore, these people will be randomly tested and consultations will be provided to all institutions (here) to look out for symptomatic people, follow them up early, and provide them with whatever treatment needed, Suhas said.

DM made it clear that there will be no restrictions on the free movement of people between Delhi and Noida.

He said that in the last few days of the festivals, people’s cross-border activities have increased, so the next few days will be “critical” and the health department has also been instructed to make adequate preparations in hospitals.

Micro containment strategies and random tests will be initiated to control the spread of COVID-19 infection, he said.
