For the development of renewable energy solutions for the Essar Group’s Green Steel Arabia (GSA) project, Desert Technologies (DT), an independent holding company for solar PV and smart infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, has entered into an agreement.

In accordance with the agreement, DT and Essar will create strategies for the production and storage of renewable energy for Essar’s Flat Steel Complex in Saudi Arabia. According to a statement from Essar Group, the firms will also look into options for further prospective projects.

The Essar project will be the first green steel project in the area. It will feature a hot strip capacity of 4 MTPA, two modules with a capacity of 2.50 MTPA each, and a direct reduced iron capacity of 5 MTPA.
