According to data from the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, Bharti Airtel, India’s second-largest telecom provider, gained 76,328 mobile customers in April, the lowest monthly increase in the previous five years. Over three million new cellular subscribers were added by Reliance Jio in the meantime, mainly due to Vodafone Idea losing subscribers.

In April 2023, Airtel, one of India’s leading telecommunications companies, experienced a significant dip in user additions, reaching its lowest point in the past five years.

The business expanded the pricing increases to all 22 circles in March after raising the basic level tariffs in two circles by 57%, from Rs 99 to Rs 155. However, ten processes still rank Airtel first, including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh (East), Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Assam, and Himachal Pradesh.

According to data, the business was the only private telecom provider to add wireless users in April in Mumbai, Jammu & Kashmir, and the Northeast. Assam was where the firm added the most customers in April, totalling 90,000. Odisha, Rajasthan, West Bengal, and Rajasthan were next.
