In a bold move to bolster its semiconductor domain and expand its technological breadth, global consulting and technology services major, Capgemini, announced its acquisition of HDL Design, a prominent name in the chip design sector.

The French IT behemoth, which competes with TCS and Infosys, will gain 300 highly qualified engineers as part of the deal who have delivered cutting-edge bespoke chip designs for a variety of sectors. Out of the company’s about 3,60,000 workers worldwide, 1,80,000 work for it in India.

According to a statement from HDL Design House, which was established in 2001 and has its headquarters in Belgrade, Serbia, its clients are major players in the semiconductor industry as well as top Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), who are utilising chips to their full potential to develop intelligent and connected products.
