In the dusty case files of Jabalpur police stations and Madhya Pradesh courtrooms, a very different name keeps appearing next to Satish Sanpal: Soniya Sanpal.

She is recorded as his wife. She shares the address 181/A, Adarsh Nagar. She is linked to the same family companies that feature in the alleged betting and money-movement network. And she has been declared a proclaimed offender.

The two names do not belong to the same woman. The records do not pretend they do. What they reveal is a man who has managed to maintain two parallel identities — one for the cameras in Dubai, and another for the police files in Jabalpur.

The Woman in the Charge Sheets

In Crime No. 170/2022 of Madan Mahal police station and the connected cases, the investigation papers and company records list Soniya (W/o Satish Sanpal) as an associated person in Lakshya Builders and Developers. The same residential address — 181/A, Adarsh Nagar, Jabalpur — appears against Satish Sanpal, Soniya, Ram Chand Sanpal and Sita Sanpal.

Later court and police records go further. In Crime No. 356/2022 of Police Station Lordganj, Soniya Sanpal was declared a proclaimed offender under Sections 82 and 83 of the CrPC. A reward of ₹1,000 was announced for information leading to her arrest. Court documents and investigative reporting state that large sums — one detailed account cites ₹352 crore moving through a shell company linked to her — form part of the allegations against the network. She has faced proceedings over passport renewal while remaining outside the jurisdiction of Indian courts.

This is not a distant relative or a name-lender pulled from thin air. This is the woman the Indian investigative record consistently describes as Satish Sanpal’s wife in the Jabalpur cases.

The Woman on the Reality Show

On Desi Bling and in the flood of coverage that followed, the wife is Tabinda Sanpal. Married to Satish around 2017, she is presented as his partner in business and lifestyle. She speaks of gold gifts, of foot massages to invite Lakshmi, of trust in a husband who parties. Multiple mainstream reports, including NDTV, explicitly refer to her as his second wife. Satish himself has acknowledged children from a previous marriage.

Tabinda is the public face. She appears in the UAE asset-freeze orders alongside Satish. She is the one photographed in luxury, the one defending their marriage on camera, the one whose name the world now associates with the Sanpal brand of excess.

The Contradiction That Will Not Go Away

One man. Two wives named in two different sets of records.

In Jabalpur, the police and courts deal with Soniya — the proclaimed offender linked to the local address and the shell-company structure that investigators say helped move money on a scale measured in hundreds of crores.

In Dubai and on Netflix, the cameras deal with Tabinda — the glamorous second wife who lives the billionaire life and speaks of gold by the kilogram.

Satish Sanpal has not publicly reconciled these two identities. He has not explained why the woman recorded as his wife in the Indian criminal files is a declared fugitive with a token reward on her head, while the woman presented as his wife to the world lives in the Burj Khalifa and features in a global reality series.

The charge sheet in the Madan Mahal case and the related investigations describe a network of paper companies, massive bank turnovers, and an absconding central figure. Soniya’s name sits inside that local paper trail. Tabinda’s name sits inside the international lifestyle brand.

The distance between 181/A Adarsh Nagar and a penthouse in the Burj Khalifa is more than geography. It is the distance between the version of Satish Sanpal that Indian investigators have been chasing for years and the version that Netflix packaged for global consumption.

Until the man at the centre of both stories chooses to explain which wife belongs to which life — or why the records refuse to speak with one voice — the question remains hanging in plain sight:
