3. What Marketing practices/tools do you rely on for business development, marketing and branding?
In terms of email marketing, we have been using Mail chimp and Kenscio to interact with our audience and build quality conversations through email. We use tools like Google Analytics for site and visitor insights, keyword research tools like Keyword Planner, Keywords Everywhere & Ahrefs for SEO purposes. Apart from this, we have built in house tools for Whats App and Telegram for social media marketing. These can be used alongside other tools like Hoot-suite to enhance social media performance. As a brand, we are also very active on Instagram and have created an engaged community of brand loyalists over the years. We also use an array of tools for app UI & UX, Data Organisation & Analysis- many of which are built in-house on Python and Power-Bi.
4. What expansion plans are you looking for the next 5 years?
If we look at what performance-marketing businesses abroad have achieved, we can see that there is a massive scope for growth of Cashback business in India. Our business model fits right into our culture of saving and trying to find the best price for everything. CashKaro is already a leader in India’s performance marketing industry and we plan to expand our user base & retailer partner network. 5. Where do you want to see yourself in the next 10 years?
Given we are already India’s Largest Cashback & Coupons Site, we aim to make our way into every Indian shoppers’ purchase journey and perhaps even grow beyond borders over the next 10 years. We are of course targeting an expanded user base and an increased number of brand partners across verticals to bring the best savings proposition to the users. Further, we plan to add more verticals to our business in order to give more. 6. What are the challenges you faced? How did you overcome those challenges?
We feel that giving up our cushy jobs and becoming Entrepreneurs has been one of the most rewarding and challenging parts of our journey. We entered an industry that did not exist and therefore had to build processes from the ground up. This applies to both processes on the business side with partner retailers and on the customer side with users. Further to this, finding the right people who have the same zeal as we did, was a challenging task. However, having each other by our side has helped us face these hurdles of entrepreneurship with ease. Together, we have handpicked people who have the right skill set and share the same passion and vision as we do. Today, we are a team of over 100 highly skilled and effective professionals. We are glad to have people who share our vision and support our goals.
7. If you had the chance to start your career all over again, what would you do differently?
We don’t think there’s anything we’d do differently. We are doing what we love and enjoy every moment of it. It has been a great learning experience and an exciting journey. We are very lucky that we could explore this opportunity and do this business together. If we absolutely had to change something, we would probably go back in time and start hiring senior people sooner than we did.
8. Anything, you would like to say to our readers or fellow business people?
I would suggest that as a budding entrepreneur, you must not let your initial struggles adversely influence your decisions to pursue your dreams. If you truly believe in it- be it a business or your passion, giving up is not an option. Larry Page’s quote- ‘Always deliver more than expected’ has always been an inspiration for the both of us. And we strongly believe that Entrepreneurship is like marriage- Unless it’s a very straight Yes, the answer is a No.
9. What is your USP that makes you different from the other businesses in similar domains?
