The cornerstone of the expansion initiatives lies in the Ethylene Cracker Project, a pivotal undertaking that will propel the production of crucial petrochemicals.

This venture entails the development of an advanced Ethylene Cracker (EC) Complex, downstream Petrochemical Plants, and the augmentation of the present Refinery capacity from 7.8 MMTPA to 11 MMTPA, along with its associated facilities at Bina Refinery.

With an estimated capital expenditure of around Rs. 49,000 Crore, this endeavor represents a momentous milestone for BPCL and the energy sector at large.

G Krishnakumar, the Chief Managing Director of BPCL, expressed his enthusiasm regarding BPCL’s significant milestone in the realm of Petrochemicals. He proudly announced the initiation of the Rs49000 Ethylene Cracker project at the Bina Refinery, which coincides with the expansion of their Refining capacity to 11 MMTPA.

In addition, BPCL has made substantial investments in Wind Energy and advanced Petroleum Oil Lubricants installations, all designed to promote sustainable processes.

This remarkable development marks a pivotal moment in their strategic pursuit of leading the charge in satisfying the rapidly increasing demand for energy and Petrochemical products in India.

The expansion of the Bina refinery is set to effectively address the increasing need for petroleum products in central and northern India, simultaneously serving as a vital source of feedstock for the EC complex.

This strategic move will not only meet the surging demand but also ensure a steady supply of essential petroleum products to the region. Furthermore, the establishment of the Petrochemical Plant is poised to cater to the burgeoning domestic requirement for petrochemical products, fostering growth and development in the industry.

By diversifying their operations, Bina refinery and Petrochemical Plant are poised to play a crucial role in sustaining India’s energy sector while meeting the evolving needs of the market.

With the aim of advancing Renewable Energy footprints, the company has committed to establishing two 50 MW Wind power plants in the states of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.

These plants will be dedicated to fulfilling the energy needs of the Bina and Mumbai Refineries, respectively. The total investment for these projects amounts to around Rs. 978 Crore, with each individual project costing Rs. 489 Crore. By implementing these wind power plants, the company is actively promoting a more sustainable and environmentally conscious operation, fostering a greener future.

Moreover, Bharat Petroleum is actively allocating substantial funds towards the development of Petroleum Oil Lubricants (POL) and Lube Oil Base Stock (LOBS) facilities, including the installation of receipt pipelines in Rasayani, Maharashtra.

This initiative, which carries an approximate expenditure of Rs. 2,753 Crore, is designed to enhance the overall storage capacity, optimize the supply-chain operations, and establish a more efficient distribution network for crucial petroleum products.

By investing in these endeavors, Bharat Petroleum is committed to improving the accessibility and availability of essential petroleum resources while ensuring a seamless and streamlined process throughout the entire value chain.

The company boasts a well-established marketing infrastructure that encompasses a wide range of facilities including installations, depots, energy stations, aviation service stations, and LPG distributors.

Their extensive distribution network is comprised of over 21,000 Energy Stations, more than 6,200 LPG distributorships, 525 Lubes distributorships, 123 POL storage locations, 53 LPG Bottling Plants, 70 Aviation Service Stations, 4 Lube blending plants, and 4 cross-country pipelines.
