Australian pilots concerned about 737 Max 8 planes after Lion air ...The Boeing 737 Max of Lion Air Flight crashed into the Java Sea on 29 October 2018 killing 108 people on the abord of aeroplane. The investigation revealed that a new software function in the flight control system caused the aircraft to nose down. That function, the manoeuvring characteristics augmentation system (MCAS), had been intentionally omitted by Boeing from aircraft documentation for aircrews, so the Lion Air pilots did not know about it, or what it could do. Investigators concluded that an external device on the aircraft, the angle-of-attack (AOA) sensor, was mis-calibrated due to improper maintenance and sent erroneous data to MCAS. MCAS responded by pushing down the nose. The problem had occurred on the same aircraft during its immediately preceding flight, and the pilots had recovered using a standard checklist for such a “runaway stabilizer” condition. During the accident flight, the AOA sensor again fed erroneous data to the MCAS, which pushed the nose of the aircraft down. The checklist was not properly followed by the pilots, so it led to MCAS’ activation that repeatedly pitched the plane down a dangerous nose position before plunging into the water where it finally crashed.

How flawed software and excess speed doomed an Ethiopian Airlines ...

The Boeing 737 Max Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 crashed on at once after starting up, killing 157 men and women. The FAA introduced new proof discovered on the crash website and satellite TV for PC statistics on Flight 302 cautioned that the aircraft would possibly have suffered from the identical hassle which the aircraft running Lion Air Flight 610 had suffered from. Investigators located the jackscrew that managed the pitch perspective of the horizontal stabilizer of Flight 302, becoming in the complete " nose down" role. The finding recommended that, at the time of the crash, Flight 302 was configured to dive, similar to Lion Air Flight 610. Due to this location, some professionals in Indonesia counselled that the Indonesian National Transportation Safety Committee (NTSC) have to cooperate with Flight 302’s investigation crew. Later on, the night, the NTSC presented help to Flight 302’s investigation crew, pointing out that the committee and the Indonesia Transportation Ministry could ship investigators and representatives from the authorities to help with the investigation of the crash.

MH370 hunt to resume with up to $70M reward for wreckage

Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 Boeing became a worldwide passenger flight which disappeared from radar on eight March 2014, at the same time as flying from Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia to its planned vacation spot, Beijing Capital International Airport in China. The purpose of its disappearance has not been determined. The crew of the Boeing 777, with registration mark 9M-MRO, ultimately communicated with air traffic manipulate (ATC) around 38 mins after take-off whilst the flight turned over the South China Sea. The plane changed misplaced from ATC’s secondary surveillance radar displays minutes later, but turned tracked by the Malaysian military’s primary radar device for every other hour, deviating westward from its planned flight path, crossing the Malaya peninsula and Andaman Sea. It left radar range 200 nautical miles (370 km; 230 mi) northwest of Penang Island in northwestern Peninsular Malaysia. Boeing's Starliner Has Finally Launched a NASA Crew Into Space | WIRED

Boeing’s most up-to-date spacecraft, referred to as Starliner carried astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams lifted from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida on June 5, their real schedule is to go back returned to the Earth within the week. But 5 of 28 “Reaction Control Thrusters” aboard Starliner’s carrier module shut themselves down suddenly and leakages of helium triggered the delay to go back and the astronauts were struck within the space-on-space craft. “We need to make sure

that every employee at

every level, in any factory,

feels empowered to raise

their hand transparently

and stop the line if that

is what’s required.”

– Dave Calhoun CEO of Boeing at the AGM

As of November 2020, banks valued Boeing’s direct costs at 20 billion, and indirect costs at over 60 billion dollars with two crashes of 737 max. To collect the losses and to make more profits the board had decided to give compensation to the CEO USA $ 32.8 million and with a 45% hike in his salary. They had to speed up the production process to increase sales. They had limited and introduced new safety checks to reduce time in the production line. They are harassing whistle-blowers instead of taking the issues raised by them seriously to fix a bug. There are a lot of layoffs on senior employees and junior employees need a lot of training. The work culture should be fixed and the management wants to concentrate more on fixing Boeing’s problems rather than focusing on increasing sales and profits.

Returns from the Boeing and Airbus equity shares

Boeing for 3 years had given negative returns of -21.63% to their shareholders and during the same period of 3 years, airbus has given a positive return of 19.04% to their shareholders.

Airbus is smaller compared to Boeing but its financial books are very strong when compared to Boeing. In FY 23 airbus declared a 3.79 $ B net profit while in the same financial year, Boeing declared a net loss of 2.02 $B.

Why Airbus share price will be a hot chick on the market

  • The world commercial aviation industry is a duopoly and the recent failures by Boeing commercial planes will shift customers to Airbus without any choice.
  • Boeing CEO Dave Calhoun Apologizes for the Quality and Safety Issues at the Senate Hearing to lose all the trust of stakeholders.
  • Boeing Starliner’s failure kills its ambitious plans for space. NASA is more closely considering for giving space contracts to SpaceX and BlueOregon instead of Boeing. So, this will hurt its revenue and also investments in R&D and other plans.
  • For Boeing, there is no existing new aeroplane platform for design to manufacturing and they have only focused on modifications om their old platforms. This will be a good advantage for Airbus.
  • The aviation passengers are thinking twice before they plan to buy tickets from Boeing.
