“Digital India”, Not A Far Fetched Dream Anymore.

Covid-19 is the before-after moment everyone around the globe needed for going digital.

From schools to offices to even doctor’s consultation, everything is being done through the internet now. People have found substitutes for all the things they never thought about. It is reshaping our lives in ways no one ever pictured it to be. It has made us realise the core essence of technology and all the right uses for it.

Vittal Raj, an expert on cyber security, said Covid-19 will help achieve the Centre’s ‘sagging’ digital dream, with the current situation forcing the digitally reluctant and digitally illiterate to break their complacent mindset and take their first steps away from the cash habit.

The major segments going virtual could be:

Digital events: with coming up of high-quality video and audio-conferencing applications, digital events might be highly appreciated and in-demand. Globally, conferences, trade shows, and even the Olympics have been cancelled or postponed to mitigate the spread of the disease. Some of these events are being respawned as virtual events, which in the end may not just be a 2020 phenomenon but the new standard for experiences. With lower costs for attendees and promoters and more flexibility in content formats, some events might remain virtual in the future. Microsoft is one of the biggest software companies who have gone digital with respect to events. The software giant was planning on holding its annual developer conference in Seattle from May 19th to May 21st, but Microsoft has decided to make it a “digital event.” A Microsoft spokesperson mentioned.

Banks going digital: Banks and credit unions must use this time of disruption to consider reinventing themselves from the inside out. Indian banks must create simple applications for all types of customers. Kiosks must be created for digital transactions. This will save cost and will also educate the citizens for a better tomorrow. Some organizations may retrench and try to save costs because of the financial stress that results from the massive shutdowns caused by COVID-19. Other organizations will go beyond looking for efficiencies to create completely new business models that will impact all components of performance. Right now, there is an opportunity to re-evaluate how technology, insight and analytics can accelerate the future growth and competitiveness of financial institutions globally. Private sector banks HDFC and ICICI have asked customers to use digital means for transactions and said they have reduced their staff in office as a precautionary measure against the spread of coronavirus. For a bank, functions such as customer service roles, phone banking, HR, corporate office functions, which do not require meeting customers, could be the ones to be first considered for remote working. “Nearly 20-30% of the people can work virtually going ahead,” says Vempati, executive vice president & head – human resources, Axis Bank.

New future for work from home: From having the right technology to having the right mindset, it is important to adjust as quickly as possible and not to use this new reality as an excuse to become unproductive. Work from home can be highly productive because it saves one a lot of time and makes him work in his own zone and comfort. HR heads from a dozen leading corporations including Axis Bank, Bank of Baroda, RPG Group, Vedanta, EY, Cognizant, Titan, Deloitte, Whirlpool, Paytm, Saint-Gobain India, among others, said that virtual workplaces are the future of work. “Work-from-home is here to stay,” said Rajkamal Vempati, executive vice president & head – human resources, Axis Bank.

Virtual health care: Several governments and hospital systems around the world have leveraged AI-powered sensors to support triage in sophisticated ways. While we are trying to dampen the spread the virus, we can also optimise our technology for it. AI for health care must be balanced by the appropriate level of human clinical expertise for final decision-making to ensure we are delivering high quality, safe care. The Cloudnine Group of Hospitals, a maternity, childcare and fertility care group of hospitals has announced the launch of its tele-consultation service with doctors. This service has been made available across Gurgaon, Noida, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru and Chennai units of Cloudnine. Practo claims said it has served millions through its tele consult services in the last three years since it first began the service. The reach is all over India including tier-2 and tier-3 cities and queries come in 24X7. Each general physician on Practo typically consults 25-30 patients a day. But in the last three weeks, Practo said the number has shot up by three to four times.

Chatbots and not customer care executives: chatbots are basically chat windows on every website for solving the queries of customers. It is a major hit in todays time but many companies are not using it because they prefer physical interaction with customers due to the psychological beliefs. HDFC Bank, one of India’s largest private sector banks, launched its own chatbot for Messenger. OnChat, the bank’s maiden foray into conversational banking, allows customers to transact for bill payments, mobile recharges, booking travel, so on and so forth. Since its launch, HDFC Bank OnChat has witnessed a surprising 160% month-on-month growth in transactions while garnering over 2.4 million messages. The bot can send personalized communications to customers, like payment reminders, and is smart enough to decipher a mix of Hindi and English – just the way a lot of Hindi-speaking Indians prefer to talk in real life.

Education through internet: since the onset of this pandemic, educational institutions are trying to cater to the students through online education platforms. There has been surge in the usage of Byjus and other apps. This is a very good way of making the child knowledgeable as hr can learn at his own pace and figure out the courseware himself. It makes the child more responsible and innovative.

Overall, we can sum up by saying that “digital India” is not a myth and can be achieved now looking at the current situation. When people have no other option left, they go to the last resort which has happened in India. People had preconceived notions about going digital but look where have we come now! There is essentially no other way out. This wave does not really include all of India because many people don’t have the way to go online. For them, the old ways would continue.

Hand in hand cooperation must be shown by people and the companies. More companies should emerge who look after digital transformation like Chennai-based FSS Pvt Ltd are working round the clock to help the digital transformation work without interruption. “Having moved to digital for payments over the past decade and more, the advent of Immediate Payment Systems, Unified Payments Interface and 24/7 National Electronics Funds Transfer has made life easy for most enabled customers,” said Nagaraj Mylandla, Managing Director, FSS Pvt Ltd.

This is the “new normal” for us and we must embrace it with a happy heart.

  • Has Coronavirus Opened The Doors For Online Education In India?

Has Coronavirus Opened The Doors For Online Education In India?

All the misconceptions about online education must be kept aside and knowledge should flourish in ever Indian household.

Since the start of corona virus epidemic, one thing that has changed is the way we all study. Educational sources are made available online so that there is no stoppage in the flow of knowledge. Penetration of online education available in India is highly varied. This can be changed by a number of ways.

Indian education system is based on the concept of memorising everything and then just producing a copy of it in the exam. After this the child forgets what was taught. It is scientifically proven that if a child is taught with sound effects and audio-visual content, the child will remember it for a much longer time.

Let’s not just study, let’s educate ourselves!

There are various benefits of learning from e-sources.

There is a wide variety of data available online: No matter what students’ study, from nursing to neuroscience, they can find the courses or programs they need online. Students can also earn every academic degree online, from a career certificate to a doctorate. This also promotes social distancing which is the need of the hour.

Comfortable learning environment: you can study at the ease of your home, your own comfortable surroundings. There are no physical class lectures and hence no show-off of uniform and any extra baggage. Students can just be how they are and attend lectures.

Pursue other courses: in India, education has always been treated as a huge deal. Students study for 10 hours daily to meet the societies expectations and to prove themselves. Along with flexible course structure classes, they can pursue their passion and not dwell into the misery of books.

More interaction and greater ability to concentrate: While contradictory evidence about the rate of online student participation versus participation in traditional courses exists, one thing remains certain: Online courses offer shy or more reticent students the opportunity to participate in class discussions more easily than face-to-face class sessions.

This segment is expected to leap from $ 247 million in 2016, to approximately $ 1.96 billion by 2021. That is a compound annual growth rate of 52%. The number of users enrolled for various online learning courses is estimated to grow to 1.6 million in 2016 to 9.6 million by the end of 2021. Indians are the second largest consumers on MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) like Coursera. Government initiatives like SWAYAM, E- Basta, E-Pathshaala, Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyaan ( RMSA) etc. are furthering the spread of online education.

Before the coronavirus pandemic, the global education technology sector, which includes online learning, was growing about 15.4% a year, with big name companies such as Google and Microsoft investing heavily in the industry, according to Kenneth Research. The United States is the largest market, with rapid growth also in India, China and South Korea, according to a report by ICEF Monitor, a market research firm focusing on international education. It is predicted that this growth rate will increase a lot for this year.

Byju’s was founded in 2011 and is now reportedly worth $8 billion. When its learning app launched in 2015, only around a quarter of India’s population had access to the internet, according to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India. Today, more than half does. That means education apps are no longer restricted to major urban centers or the wealthier members of society. Byju’s says that more than 60% of its students are from outside the 10 largest cities in India. The app is currently only available in Hindi and English, but Raveendran says Byju’s is in the process of adding more regional languages.

Regional language integration is highly demanded for online education to flourish in India.

There were a few universities which were highly globalised and converted into e-universities before this pandemic. Pearl Academy, the country’s premier design school, where undisrupted learning is happening despite the education lockdown is one of them. Another university that comes to mind is University of Petroleum and Energy Sciences (UPES) based at Dehradun where learning continues through online medium. It’s clear that Pearl Academy and UPES had unlocked their mindsets many years back which enables them to make a seamless transition. What did these two institutions do differently? They recognized the need far ahead of others and made sure that right investments were made in technology, training of faculty and students. Myths around online learning were removed, high quality content was created and partnerships with global players like Coursera was forged to ensure a top-notch student experience. Students at Pearl and UPES have access to nearly 3,600 courses from top global universities like Brown, Duke, Michigan, Insead, NYU etc.

The shift which was observed in the online education segment was massive in india. People who do not have access to better quality internet connections and do not have the right infrastructure will be badly hit. “We are seeing an explosion of education shifting online, but it all happened so fast, and so many institutions were not prepared that much of what we are seeing isn’t effective online learning,” says Jennifer Mathes, interim CEO at the Online Learning Consortium, a nonprofit organization dedicated to virtual learning in higher education. “People were caught off guard at the college and elementary levels.”

Major part of India resides in the rural areas and people there do not have one mobile phone available specifically for educational purposes. India can take a few progressive actions to make sure that education is gone to every house.

The government can start airing a few educational lessons on doordarshan so that people in the villages can access it too.

“Partnership is the only way forward,” UNESCO Director General Audrey Azoulay said in a statement. Partnerships and collaborations can be done between companies and educational institutions in order to create a haste free learning method. Government can come forward and give the responsibility of online education in all schools owned and managed by them to companies as a part of their CSR.

Online education can come fully in India only if:

    1. We open our mind to the possibility of learning through e-lectures.
    2. People in the villages are taken care of.
    3. Regional languages are available
    4. Proper course structure is followed with lessons and assessments.
    5. Internet is provided to everyone at a low cost

This system will be suitable for India in the long run only if everyone follows “Digital India” and adapts themselves with the rapid technology. Looking at the current demographic structure, this is a far-fetched idea and can be realised only with proper implementation.

  • When Major Businesses Are Weeping & Facing Crisis, Some Sectors Are Flourishing In Lockdown

When Major Businesses Are Weeping & Facing Crisis, Some Sectors Are Flourishing In Lockdown

“Crisis can be sort of a catalyst or can speed up changes that are on the way — it almost can serve as an accelerant,” said Arun Sundararajan, an NYU Stern School of Business professor researching how digital technologies transform society. This is the time of distress. People are losing their jobs; some are being denied their salaries and some have been laid off. This isn’t the right time for a person’s well-being. A person who is independent can not fulfill his commitments.

India’s urban unemployment rate is at its peak and is soaring high. There are plenty of firms who can function on virtual basis but some of them cannot. Startups that provide flight and hotel bookings have naturally been the worst-hit. The gig-economy firms including Ola, Uber and Airbnb, too, are seeing a drop in demand. Co-working spaces in Bengaluru and Gurugram have already seen a fall in attendance since last week. All these sectors will suffer more in coming weeks with the travel sector likely to see a fall for many months to come. Social distancing is the need of the hour but some firms are drowning in the sea of losses during this time. People who are always “on site” duty, can simply not function during this time. Others who belong to IT based companies, are working with utmost peace at the comfort of their homes.

Companies generating content: There has been high demand for content during this time. Websites like Netflix, amazon prime and hotstar witnessed a sudden spike in the demand. It became unbearable for them to manage so they decided to stream only SD content on mobile devices. They are expected to have huge amounts of profits during this time. People who run blogs are also witnessing large surge in the people visiting their website. The traffic on every channel is increasing. Youtubers are witnessing high number of viewers for their content.

Online Gaming Segment: Online gaming startups in India are at their all-time high.  According to a report by Google-KPMG, the online gaming segment is pegged at $1.1 billion by 2021. India comes among the top five mobile gaming markets in the world. And with the Covid-19 lockdown, the online gaming market in India is witnessing a skyrocketing increase in user engagement. International games such as Houseparty and Psych have emerged as one of the most-played games during the quarantine period. In fact, their user engagement has reached a level that users are experiencing lags in the interface of Psych.

According to Nanda, it is mostly the multiplayer games such as Carrom, Ludo and Royal Battle that have seen a spike in users since the lockdown, where people appear to be playing more with their friends and family. “60% of the people who play our games come from the age-group of 18 to 25, mostly males. However, amid the lockdown, we see an increase in users from the age group of 25-35. A marginal increase in female traffic has also been observed,” he said.

Video Conferencing Apps: Video conferencing is the new way of conducting board meetings, hold lectures and in some cases, have exams. Apps such as Zoom, Google classroom and many more are seeing a surge in the demand. The CEO for zoom app has said that he never imagined that his app would generate so much traffic and hold so much value at a point in time.

Insurance Startups: insurance startups are seeing a sharp increase in demand, and in most cases, this is translating into actual business as some startups have begun offering products to cover the Covid-19 treatment cost. Earlier this month, Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India asked insurance providers to introduce policies to cover treatment costs for the disease.

Digital Payments Sectors: startups which were earlier not doing so great can expect a surge in demand now. The country is promoting use of internet payments as the virus can sustain even on paper. About 38% of consumers now see contactless as a basic need or feature of payments, up from 30% a year ago.

FMCG, OTT and E-Commerce: Some sectors which have seen higher demand ever since the virus outbreak are pharmaceuticals, FMCG, OTT platforms and e-commerce. The FMCG sector has performed fairly well on the domestic stock markets amid widespread panic-buying the country. All companies in the sector including Nestle, HUL, ITC, P&G, Godrej Consumer, Dabur, Amul and others are set to gain big amid the sudden gush of demand. A Nielsen report shows that there has been heavy stockpiling of not only essential food items but also indulgence items like biscuits, chocolates, salty snacks and cookies. There have been issues in the FMCG sector too. There are major supply chain issues in the country. States have sealed their borders which makes it impossible for these companies to have a smooth supply of goods.

Medical Equipment Companies: It may be noted that at least 15 firms received permission from the government to produce PPEs or personal protective equipment including Arvind Mills, JCT Mills Phagwara, Amare Safety, Mumbai-based Sure Safety, Delhi-based Sai Synergy, Manchanda, and Shree Healthcare, Chennai. All of these companies have been given permission by the government to produce surgical gloves, goggles, hand sanitiser, clinical dump bags, blood and fluid spill kits, mask fit test kits and thermometers, said the report.

Groceries at home: Various companies have emerged with new grocery section on their online platforms. Many online grocery delivery services are now being joined by major e-commerce companies Flipkart and Amazon, who are delivering only essential goods in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. It won’t be surprising if all these companies see an exponential rise in their profits during the period of lockdown.

Some industries which were not explored much earlier, are being used highly now. This is a huge chance for them to create a market stake for themselves. If they come out as a successful company right now, they can very well sustain themselves after this pandemic.

  • Coronavirus Pandemic: Work From Home Is The New Name For Freedom

Coronavirus Pandemic: Work From Home Is The New Name For Freedom

With COVID-19 Pandemic, social distancing is the new norm. A third of population around the globe is under lockdown, those with symptoms are self-isolated and others maintaining social distance. Work from home (WFH) is our new reality.

Every crisis serves as a learning opportunity for organisations, and this pandemic is proving to be quite the lesson.

For IT companies, WFH had been an established practice, but for others it is a bridge to be crossed. A huge reason behind the resistance is the lack of right technology and infrastructure to support WFH. For instance, employees might not have laptops, or connectivity issues at their homes and access to other resources, they might need. Also, there is an issue of data security as well as monitoring of employees for productivity. We can see data stealing cases daily on the internet. For many employers it is an unfamiliar experience, and there are psychological barriers around WFH. They are used to seeing their employee around where they can summon them. There is also an issue of trust, employers are resistant in handing over assets and data to the employees to take home.

Pros of work from home include zero travel, no more hours wasted in travel and congested traffic issues, saving on time and money, time wasted on commute and fuel cost is saved, flexibility, not only in terms of time also workspace. And at the same time, employees can get creative with their 8 hours as well as create workspace ambience of their preference.

Since there is a total lockdown in the Indian workplaces as well as other aspects, offices have to resort to work from home. All offices in India have been working virtually, people are treating their laptops as their bread and butter. There is no replacement available for this situation. It is something which can not be changed.

Companies categorically need to revamp their leave structures and employee benefit structures to incorporate disruptions caused by pandemics; however, governments must ensure that informal labourers that are not protected by these measures are not adversely affected by the pandemic’s damage to the economy. The informal workforce was looked down upon earlier but at this time, they are the ones helping us the most. People resorted to using e commerce websites for the smallest of things like soaps, detergents but at this time, there is no other option but to go back to the roots and the local vendors.

Several companies have created policies to support their employees in these uncertain days. While these customized initiatives are laudable, informal labourers are not equipped with the same security. Tata Steel has tweaked its leave policy to include a “special leave” for employees that need to self-quarantine based on perceived exposure, and RPG enterprise has created an “exceptional leave” policy with full pay for the same. Twitter has stated that all employees, including hourly workers, will receive reimbursement toward their home office set-up expenses. Furthermore, they are also working with their vendors to ensure contractors’ work from home needs are met.

India is yet to announce any amendment within existing labor laws to accommodate changes caused in employment conditions due to COVID-19. Navigating the work from home model can be difficult, especially for businesses that have no experience with remote operations. Therefore, it is important that management along with the legal and HR department come up with a set of guidelines for their employees to make the transition from being physically in office to remote collaboration smoother.

India’s IT industry, which employs over 3 million, typically has a large number of employees travelling overseas on projects and for client meetings. Since these tasks can not be fulfilled, employees have sort to video conferencing and other electronic modes of communication.

Some people from the corporate world have also commented regarding this issue. “We are sure that in the current situation, working from within the safe confines of their homes, the efficiency and productivity of our colleagues would increase,” said a representative for Paytm.

“By asking some employees to not come to office, our goal is to reduce density and risk for everyone else,” said Andrew Macdonald, senior vice president for rides and platform, Uber.

A spokesperson for Ola said, “Employees have been advised to work from home in case they seem to have any flu-like symptoms as a precautionary measure. As part of our preparedness module, a task force has been created that is actively working with employees. All non-essential inter-city and international travel have been put on hold.”

Twitter is going a step ahead and is compensating employees for any additional expenses they will incur while working from home.

The Indian government is constantly appealing to the public to not lay off people during these adverse conditions for the sake of humanity. Compensation schemes for the unemployed haven’t been given out by the government yet but they will be out shortly.

“Work-from-home is here to stay,” said Rajkamal Vempati, executive vice president & head – human resources, Axis Bank. For a bank, functions such as customer service roles, phone banking, HR, corporate office functions, which do not require meeting customers, could be the ones to be first considered for remote working. “Nearly 20-30% of the people can work virtually going ahead,” says Vempati.

Work from home can serve as a benefit for the organisations too. They won’t have to incur huge fixed charges for the employee settlement in the office area. The land requirement for the office, transportation allowance, meal allowance and quite a few more expenses will be cut down.

Over three-quarters of Indian respondents in a recent survey said they should have a work-from-home option. The survey was conducted by jobs portal Shine.com and included over 1,200 respondents aged between 22 years to 30 years, of which 70% were office goers, 10% involved in work-from-home jobs, and the rest a combination of the first two.

Work from home can be a win win situation for both the parties if used judiciously.

  • Online Education And E-Learning Trending In 2020 Coronavirus Crisis

Online Education And E-Learning Trending In 2020 Coronavirus Crisis

There is a complete lockdown across the country due to the Coronavirus. Children are unable to go to school. But at this difficult time, online education is increasing remarkably. Digital classes are running for young children from schools and colleges and universities. Students are being benefited greatly from this.

Let us tell you how online education is growing rapidly in this era of coronavirus crisis and lockdown, what are its advantages and challenges?

online education is Great for developing self-care within children:

Whether We Like It Or Not, Online Teaching Is The Future, So Let's Start Learning How To Do It Properly

Education expert and director of the Alcon Group of Schools, Ashok Pandey, said that parents should connect children with online education so that they can come out of the negative atmosphere of Coronavirus. Also, this is a good time to develop self-care within children. This is an opportunity for children to develop such qualities as self-confidence, physical fitness, and courage. Ashok Pandey himself has been conducting many webinars to make children aware of coronavirus and is giving fitness lessons.

This is how the online class is going for school children:

Vinod Khare, a computer teacher at St. Thomas School in Kanpur, said, “We have just implemented Google classroom to teach our students.” First, we create a class in it and pass its code to the corresponding children of that class. The lecture is given in the digital class. Then the assignments are given according to the same lecture. Zoom cloud meeting is also being used.

However, it is facing problems like internet speed and network. According to Vinod Khare, school education has suddenly gone online due to the corona lockdown, which is causing problems for many teachers. The teacher is using one to one and a half GB of data to make a 10-minute video and there is a problem of sound in their video. But after the lockdown, if the teacher is given little training in digital education, then teaching online will become easier for the school teacher.

Which topic is easy to teach and which is difficult in online teaching?

Vinod Khare explains that it is easy to teach theory-based subjects in digital education, such as English, Hindi, History, Geography, Economics. But the subject which has more to explain, there is a problem with it, like maths, science. In such subjects which are more practical-based, it is easier to write on the blackboard.

Online education is better for which standard?

8 Things You Need to Know About Online Education

According to Vinod Khare, digital education is good for pre-primary students, but it is necessary to have an interaction between students and teachers in a class above this. At the same time, digital education is very good for those preparing for graduation and the competition, because these students understand their subject well.

Is online education an inspiration taken from Greece?

According to Yashasvi Kumar, CEO of the current affair app KNAPPILY, in Greece at this time of lockdown, teaching materials are being made available on phones and national television. From this, we can also learn how education can be reached to every child in the country and to the children of the village through a digital platform. For this, educational content on TV and radio should be provided as much as possible. Content from IGNOU and UGC should be promoted. They have excellent digital education content.

Online-digital education will also have to reach the village:

    – Yashaswi Kumar suggests that government teachers should also get motivated for online education.

    – Government teachers should also be trained in digital education.

-3 hours of training is enough for the teachers.

-This should be for the teachers from the university level to the school level. Children should also get training in digital education.

    – We should prepare in such a way that the children of the village can reach education online or through TV.

Due to Corona, the government should also experiment in lockdown on how free education content can be reached to the villages.

    – If three hours of content will be provided to the children, lockdown can become very beneficial for the children.

One should Pay attention when choosing an online course:

-The syllabus should be taken care of whether it is being completed or not.

    – The course should be chosen according to topics.

    – After searching properly, a course should be selected.

School students have to pay attention to these things:

The Impact of Online Education in Academics

    1. Security crisis – Security is always a threat in online work because many online hackers know that students and teachers are online at this time of Corona. This danger is more on school children. The level of online security is not strong in most websites of schools.

    2. Privacy – Online education makes a lot of data of students being uploaded online, eg, name, email, grade and test score. In such a situation privacy should be taken care of.

    3. Isolation – Online education is fine in this difficult time, but it also carries the risk of isolation.

    4. Do not know about the courses – people have less understanding about online courses and education. In such a situation, the identification of good courses and bad courses is less.

    5. Children at risk of physical discomfort- Children have less habit of reading from the laptop or tab. Therefore, they may also have problems like back pain. According to research by Princeton University, digital education without a regular computer setup also puts children at risk of multiple injuries.

Also, it is very important to do sports activities, exercise, and a nutritious diet. Children are currently studying online, so their physical activity has reduced, so give them full opportunity to play indoors. Their diet should also be very nutritious.

  • The social impact of Corona: Corona pandemic will change our habits forever

While the coronavirus crisis is destroying the economy globally, on the other hand, it is testing our humanity. A human being is a social animal but these days humans are adopting social distance to avoid corona. This epidemic has changed our daily activities. Due to this, on one hand, we are re-adopting our centuries-old tradition- Namaskar. At the same time, digital advances are also been made. Overall, our social habits are changing due to the epidemic.

Let’s know how social habits are changing-

     The tradition of Namaskar resumes

People all over the world are avoiding shaking hands with each other to avoid coronavirus infection and are adopting the tradition of being greeted from afar to avoid infection. All leaders of the world, including the Prime Minister of Israel, have advised adopting the Indian tradition of salutations. However, many Indians have an inclination towards modern/foreign culture, which is why some people were more confident in shaking hands and hugs than in greetings. This is the second time when a change in sexual habits has been noticed. Earlier, due to AIDS, people had made it mandatory to use condoms.

Work culture, workplace arrangements are changed, gender equality is promoted

Coronavirus forced employees of all companies around the world to work at home. Today, millions of employees are working from home. These days, all those companies are preferring to work from home, who could never even think of working in ways other than the office.  Gender Equality will be promoted during the Work from Home. According to Professor Matthias of Northwest University, there has always been discrimination between women and men in the workplace in terms of work and salary. However, the Work from Home home can also eliminate this gap. Work from Home is promoting gender equality. According to the expert, this policy in the work culture will work for a long time.

    Online shopping habits will increase

According to a report in the New York Times, people are avoiding visiting places like malls and supermarkets after the Corona cases have increased. Instead, people are giving priority to ordering goods at home through online apps.

An e-commerce industry executive was quoted saying that e-commerce companies like Flipkart, Amazon, BigBasket, and Grophers have registered a growth of 20 to 30 percent in the last 15 days after coronavirus cases rose. Vipul Parekh, the founder of online food grocery store BigBasket, says this month has seen an increase in the number of orders compared to last month and we have an increase of 25 to 30 percent.

Ignore Malls, people will even avoid Cinemas and crowded places

Since the outbreak of the corona virus, people have been avoiding going to crowded places and using public transport. Especially in metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, this concern is more visible among people. According to experts, now people will want to avoid going to crowded places forever.

Most people will also want to avoid going to the mall even after the corona infection is over. Also, they would avoid going to the cinema house and would like to watch the movie on the OTT platform.

Focus on digital payment and online classes

Schools and universities all over the world are trying to change the way of education. The use of virtual classes is increasing rapidly. All schools and colleges are also exploring such possibilities. In such a situation, students may have to make a habit of joining virtual classes instead of classrooms. Many telecom companies have also issued special tariff plans for working and studying from home.

Because of the fear of the corona pandemic, people are now using physical currency less and the trend of digital payment is increasing. To prevent the spread of the Corona virus, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das has asked customers to use digital banking facilities as much as possible.

Food and hygiene habits will change

Corona has proved the importance of cleanliness and hygiene. Hygiene standards are not yet developed in India like developed countries, but now they are changing. People’s eating and drinking habits are also changing with this virus. According to Varun Khera, head of the Noida chapter of the National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) and director of restaurant Desi Vibes, “Now people will prefer quality and hygienic food. On the other hand, restaurants and hotels also have to raise their hygiene standards.”

Due to the corona pandemic, various things are taking a positive turn and leading towards a more healthy and digital India.
