Exciting Launch: 2023 Kia Seltos Facelift Hits Indian Market, Starting at Rs 10,89,900
Kia India has officially launched the highly anticipated 2023 Kia Seltos facelift in the country, offering a total of 18 variants. The prices for the new Seltos 2023 start at Rs 10,89,900 (ex-showroom) for the base model and go up to Rs 19,99,900 (ex-showroom) for the top-spec variant.
2023 Kia Seltos facelift powertrains
The 2023 Kia Seltos facelift comes with three engine options to cater to different preferences. These include the Smartstream 1.5-litre Turbo-GDi petrol engine, producing 160PS of power and 253Nm of torque, the Smartstream 1.5-litre NA petrol engine, delivering 115PS of power and 144Nm of torque, and the Smartstream 1.5-litre CRDi VGT diesel engine, generating 116PS of power and 250Nm of torque. Customers can choose between various transmission options, such as the 6-speed iMT or 7-speed DCT for the turbo petrol unit, 6-speed MT or IVT for the NA petrol unit, and 6-speed iMT or 6-speed AT for the diesel unit.

The 2023 Kia Seltos facelift bookings commenced on July 14, immediately after its unveiling on July 4. Remarkably, the vehicle received an overwhelming response with 13,424 bookings recorded on the very first day.
2023 Kia Seltos facelift design & features (exteriors)
The 2023 Kia Seltos facelift features a striking design, incorporating the ‘Opposites United’ design language. It boasts the Kia signature Star Map LED lighting concept, including new Crown Jewel LED headlamps, Ice-Cube LED fog lamps, sequential LED turn indicators, and redesigned LED light guide and LED DRLs. The bumper has been refreshed, and the vehicle showcases a new skid plate and a larger Tiger Nose grille. Additionally, the overall length of the Seltos facelift has been extended by 50mm.
The rear of the 2023 Kia Seltos facelift showcases a redesigned tailgate and new Star Map LED connected taillamps, adding to its stylish appearance. The SUV’s overall look is robust, thanks to its segment-first 18-inch Crystal Cut Glossy Black alloy wheels.
The vehicle offers a wide range of color options, providing customers with ample choices. It comes in eight monotone colors, two dual-tone colors, and the Xclusive Matte Graphite color. Some of the available options include Pewter Olive (new), Imperial Blue, Intense Red, Aurora Black Pearl, Clear White, Sparkling Silver, Glacier White Pearl, Gravity Grey, Xclusive Matte Graphite (X Line), Glacier White Pearl with Aurora Black Pearl, and Intense Red with Aurora Black Pearl.

The interior of the 2023 Kia Seltos facelift exudes a more premium feel than its predecessor. Replacing the standard electric sunroof, it now features a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, adding to the sense of luxury. The cabin also boasts a new HVAC set-up with dual-zone fully automatic climate control, enhancing the comfort level. The semi-digital instrument cluster has been upgraded to an all-new fully-digital unit with a 10.25-inch colored display, providing a modern and sophisticated look. Additionally, there is a new 10.25-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, offering advanced connectivity and entertainment options.
The 2023 Kia Seltos facelift comes with an impressive array of additional features. These include an 8-inch Head-Up Display (HUD), ventilated front seats with an eight-way power driver’s seat for enhanced comfort, a Bose premium sound system with eight speakers for an immersive audio experience, and an air purifier with virus and bacteria protection to ensure a clean and healthy cabin environment. The SUV also incorporates a 360-degree camera with a blind view monitor in the instrument cluster for improved visibility and safety. Moreover, the connectivity technology has been significantly upgraded, offering a total of 67 smart features.
In terms of safety, the 2023 Seltos facelift offers an extensive range of 32 safety features. Notably, it includes the Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) with three radars and one camera, a technology also found in Kia’s premium electric model, the EV6. However, the Level 2 ADAS is available only with the GT Line and X Line variants of the Seltos.

The 2023 Kia Seltos facelift will face strong competition from its main rivals, the Hyundai Creta and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, in the mid-size SUV segment. Additionally, it will be contending with other players in the market, such as the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, and MG Astor. In the coming months, the Honda Elevate is also expected to be launched in India, further intensifying the competition in this highly competitive segment.
