The Ram Janambhoomi and Babri-Masjid dispute’s solution

On November 9, 2019, the Supreme Court cleared the way for the construction of a Ram Mandir at the disputed site at Ayodhya and directed the Centre to allot a 5-acre plot to the Sunni Waqf Board for building a mosque. Under the most significant and most anticipated judgments in Indian history, a bench headed by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi put an end to the more than a century-old conflict that has shredded the country’s social fabric.

The Supreme Court stated that the Masjid should be constructed at a “prominent site” in a 1024-page verdict, and Trust should be formed within three months for the construction of the Ram mandir at the site, where Hindus believe Lord Ram was born.

 Post-Supreme Court decision reaction!

The Supreme Court’s decision on Ayodhya Ram Mandir verdict was headed by a bench of 5 judges: Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, Justice SA Bobde, Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice Ashok Bhushan, and Justice Abdul Nazeer. After the decision was passed, the Sunni Waqf board seemed unsatisfied and stated in a press conference just after the verdict that they are looking forward to registering another PIL in the court to rethink the decision. Whereas, the Nirmohi Akhada was satisfied with the Supreme Court’s decision.
