From Rags To Riches- Don’t Under Estimate a Chaiwala

Chaiwala (A person who owns a tea-stall, makes and sell tea) – we might have heard this name very often in our day to day life whether we were in college or job everyone feels happy relaxed at chaiwala.
Recently one chai wala become the prime minister of India and this word has taken a lot of respect in Indian community. Do not forget the main lead hero of the famous movie slumdog millionaire where a chai wala wins the game of who wants to be a millionaire while selling the tea in the streets of Mumbai.
Today we present the story of Shambhu Kumar who is highly educated and started a venture of selling tea in Bihar. His most notable thing is that he serves flavoured tea, masala tea herbal tea and being from the hotel management background, he keeps experimenting with his own product as well as knows the secret of customer satisfaction.
He is a perfect example of a true entrepreneur. When you really want to stand on your feet, you don’t need any support. You do not need any funds to start a venture, all you need is little courage, some risk taking factors as well as a clear idea, a clear destination and some strategies and you can always go from rags to riches.

1.What is the Name of Your Venture? Any specific reason for this name?
Ans. ” KHUSBU CHAY ” .

2.Who is your target Audience/clients?
Answer. College going youth, working professional, railway transit passenger,bus stop, shoppers mall.
3.Where is your venture based (city, state, country) & What are your geographical target areas?
Answer- Patna,Bihar (India), all geographical area globally.
4.What problems does your venture resolve? What are your products or services?
Answer- Its a flavored cum herbal tea, so basically its benefit in diabetes, conspiration etc.
Product- mango masala herbal gel with green tea, we have more than 20 natural flavored tea. In which some is beneficial for diabetes patients and any healthy people use this .
5.Share the idea or story behind the venture. How did it came to an existence? What motivated you to start your own venture?
Answer- @ college time while I was doing hotel management, I got this idea. I wanted to do something new for tea lovers.

6.Who are your biggest competitors and how do you differentiate yourself from them?
Answer- my biggest competititors is myself , and I do continuesely experiment with tea.
7.How did you identify your co-founder? Tell us some thing about your co-founder/s
Ans- till now I am my own boss.
8.How did you hired your first team members? What skills Do you want in your employees/team?
Answer- discipline , confident, smartness etc.
9.What expansion plans are you looking for the next 2 years, next 5 years?
Answer- next 2 years I have plan to launch in at list 5 states in india and 2 metro city.
10.Where do you want to see yourself in next 10 years?
Answer – Globally known brand.
11.What are your goals over the next 1, 3, 6 and 12 months?
Answer- make a big market within Bihar , jharkhand & uttar pradesh state.
12.Have you raised any funding? Or have any plans for the funding?
Answer- still I am approaching to investors but till now I am trying.
13.What were the problems you faced during the starting days and how did you resolve them?
Answer- because I have no very much financial support and I am in initial stage now , so there is a lot of challenge, day to day I organize my tea stall at different place in patna Bihar, I wakeup @ 3:30 am daily and travel 6 kilometers far , different park within patna, because number of people do morning walk in park, so I target them specially diabetes patients.
In Afternoon i do door to door marketing of my product. Offices, malls , residential areas,railway station.
14.What was the most challenging part of your journey till now? How did you overcome those challenges?
Answer- because this is a very new concept here so big challenge is convince to people about my product.

Answer- complicated.
16.What are your hobbies? What do you do in your non-work time?
Answer- Acting , social welfare activity

Answer- Indian foods, Shimla

Answer- motivator Sandeep maheshwari .
19.What do you feel is the major difference between entrepreneurs and those who work for someone else?
Answer- risk taking capability is the major difference in my opinion.

Answer- I do same work in different way.

Answer- I have to balance within my professional and personal life.

Answer- my mission is change the way to take tea, in my tea masala I use natural fruits flavour and don’t use any artificial preservative or chemical. Hygienic environment.

Answer- smartness in the way of work, discipline, honesty, confidence.
26. Do you consider yourself successful and by what means do you measure success?
Answer- no i dont consider myself successful , always I learn something new. Life time I am a student.
