Business is all about money and profits but not at the cost of harassing and blackmailing the customers. When you make profits through blackmailing and harassing customers, you are actually not doing business but extortion and then you can be better called as D Company.

The article relates to Daikin India. Daikin is so called a world leader in cooling and air conditioners in India.

The story of being harassed, tortured and blackmailing by Daikin India goes like this.

One customer went to a retail store and bought a 1.5 ton Daikin Non Inverter Ac. The shop owner urged him to buy the Inverter Air conditioner but he decided to buy a Non-Inverter AC.

Before we go ahead let us tell you that a 1.5 Ton Non Inverter AC comes with a price tag of 35000 INR and an Inverter AC comes with the price tag of 47000 INR, almost a difference of 12000 INR which is a huge amount for a middle class person.

The customer got the AC and it got delivered to his home in next 24 hours, then comes the AC installation guys.

Difference Between Inverter vs Non-Inverter Air Conditioners

The AC installation team visited his placed and told him that the fees for the installation of Inverter AC is 600 INR + GST and fees for installation of Non-Inverter AC is 1800 INR + GST almost a difference of 1200 along with difference of GST.

The customer asked the team if there is any difference between the installation of non-inverter AC and inverter AC like any extra drilling, cabling, spare parts, or any extra accessories.

The installation team told him that the process and installation is almost the same but the company policy says that for inverter AC the cost of installation is 600 INR + GST and Non Inverter AC the cost is 1800 INR + GST.

The customer being a well informed citizen, called the customer care of Daikin AC and asked the charges for the AC installation and he got the same answer the fees for the installation of Inverter AC is 600 INR + GST and fees for installation of Non-Inverter AC is 1800 INR + GST.

He then again asked if there is any technical difference between the installation of Inverter AC and Non-Inverter AC or if the company is using any more or less parts, time, energy or efforts in Installing Inverter and Non-Inverter AC.

He got a strange answer from the customer support person that they are not aware about any such technical questions but this is a company policy and if he has some problem with the same, he can make a call to the area head office of his location and discuss the same with them.

The customer then made a call to the Area Head office and asked the same question and came to know that there is no such difference in the installation of the AC whether Inverter or Non Inverter AC.

All the material used is same, parts used are same, efforts and process is same, time consumption is same.

The customer then asked why is there such a huge difference in the installation cost of inverter and non-inverter AC for which the team first denied responding saying that they do not know the same and its the company policy but after little pestering they told that Daikin Non Inverter AC comes with the price of 35000 INR and Daikin Inverter AC comes with the price tag of 47000 therefore the sales value has a difference and Daikin is charging extra for AC Installation to compensate the loss.

The customer got furiated by such illogical answer and asked why Daikin is selling Non-Inverter AC, if they do not want to sell for less, to which the company representative from their head office replied that they have no idea for the same and they should talk to the senior management as its them who is making the company policy.

The customer then again told the Daikin team that he do not want to have the installation done through them and would get this done from outside to which the Daikin representative threatened the customer by saying that if he get the installation done from outside, he will loose the warranty of the product and if tomorrow there is any fault in the AC, Daikin will not be responsible for the same.

Any Idea how and why is this happening that in a country like India, companies like Daikin are able to harass, torture and blackmail their customers for such things, how these companies even have the audacity of blackmailing their customers like this.

He decided to file a police complaint and went to police station, but as usual the police denied to file any FIR. Let us remind you that there have been many instances in India where police even denied to file an FIR of rape, murder, kidnapping.

He decided to file a court case but saw that there is already more than 5 crores cases pending in India.

This has become the fate of India, companies who have strong backing, high revenues, high turn over keep harassing their customers for one or the other reasons and Indians never go to court or police to make complaint against them.

Reason: Lethargic, Impotent, Useless Judiciary & Extremely Time & Money Consuming Legal Process.

Companies like Daikin and many more very well knows that Indian judiciary takes almost 8-10 years to decide even the most heinous and grave, open and shut cases like Nirbhaya rape cases despite trial going in fast track. In many many cases which are of very grave and serious nature judiciary takes 15-20 years to decide, many cases in India are even 40-45 years old and the defendant and petitioner both have died and now their next generation is fighting the court case.

In such a scenario is it possible for a middle class person to file a case for a matter of 1200 INR and wait for another 15-20 years for the justice and expect any positive outcome?

These big companies with very big numbers, big revenues, turn over knows and understands it very deeply and thus they are fearless and extort the money from their customers openly.

Such companies can never dare to blackmail and extort money from customers customers in Europe & America. Rather for countries in Europe and America they have completely different policies.

Remember the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard case? The entire case was heard and decided in just 45 days.

 

Can anyone in India expect any small or big case to be decided in Indian courts in 45 days?

The truth is even the police takes 90 days to file the charge sheet.
Indian citizens ends their entire life in waiting for the justice but the cases are never over, their entire earning, time, energy goes in fighting the cases and at the end almost 90% court cases are dropped.

The people who file the cases themself withdraw the cases in 2-3 hearings as they realize that there is almost zero outcome of the cases and they are just loosing the money in paying the legal fees and time in visiting the courts.

This is a very well known & understood fact by the corporates that no Indian will fight for 10-15 years for an amount of 1000-1200 INR and thus corporates misuse this strategy on customers in India and at the end the customer is tortured and the story continues.

But we have to realize that quantum of such amount is huge, India being a country of 140 crores and selling almost 50 lacs AC every year and charging 1500 per Ac installation is a huge revenue and companies like Daikin can not make such policies to blackmail their customers.

At the time of writing this article, we have sent an email to take the inputs from Daikin Representatives at their office email id [email protected] on 15th June 2023 but has not received any reply even after 25 days.

So now our readers can understand, how important are customers and the value of customers in the eyes of corporates like Daikin
