Adani Touched 2nd Richest Person Position But Surprisingly None of his Companies is listed in the Fortune Global 100 List Not Even In 500

None of Adani’s companies is listed amongst the top 500 companies in the world in the Fortune Global 500 List 2022.

Indian billionaire industrialist Gautam Adani on Friday briefly became the second richest person in the world after Tesla’s Elon Musk, beating Jeff Bezos and Bernard Arnault, according to the Forbes Real-time Billionaires list. But surprisingly, none of his companies is listed amongst the top 500 companies in the world in the Fortune Global 500 List 2022.

The Fortune Global 500 list is ranked according to the companies’ combined revenues for their respective fiscal years as of March 31, 2022.

Notably, there are a total of nine Indian companies listed in the Fortune Global 500 list 2022, including five public sector companies and four private sector companies, viz.,

  2. Reliance Industries Limited (104th position)
  3. Indian Oil Corporation (142nd position)
  4. Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (190th position)
  5. State Bank of India (236th position)
  6. Bharat Petroleum (295th position)

  8. Tata Steel (435th position)
  9. Rajesh Exports (437th position)

On the other hand, his fortune had crossed the $155 billion mark, but as most of the group’s stocks ended in the red, the tycoon slipped back to the third position with a net worth of Rs. 152.6 billion as per the Forbes Real-time Billionaires list.

Arnault surpassed Adani again and settled in the second position. Adani still remains ahead of Jeff Bezos, who is now in the fourth spot.

Adani is the first Indian and Asian to make his way to the top 3 of the Forbes Real-time Billionaires list. Also, Adani first surpassed Mukesh Ambani as the richest Asian in February.
