The Asian Development Bank (ADB) on Wednesday announced a package of $ 6.5 billion (48 thousand crore) for its developing member countries to deal with the corona virus epidemic. The ADB said in a statement that in view of the corona virus epidemic, a preliminary package has been announced for immediate assistance to developing member countries.
Appeal for immediate help to needy countries
This amount will be available to all ADB member countries. The ADB said that the first action is to help an economically weak country where a large number of people are living. ADB Vice President (Knowledge Management and Health Development) Dr. Bambang Susantono said, “The severity of corona virus is increasing. This epidemic has become a major global problem. This requires concrete steps at national, regional and global levels. He said, “With our developing member countries, we are taking aggressive action to deal with the epidemic, to protect the poor and our large population.” They are also ensuring that the economy gets back on track as much as possible. Asakawa said, “After negotiating with our member countries and equivalent institutions, we are offering a package of $ 6.5 billion to meet the immediate needs of the member countries.” He said that ADB is ready to provide further financial support and policy advice when needed.
More than 7,500 people have died so far
The Corona virus has infected more than 1,85,000 people worldwide. Due to this, more than 7,500 people have died so far. According to the Ministry of Health, the total number of corona virus infections in India has now risen to 147. There have been three deaths due to corona in India so far. All three were elderly and had recently come from abroad or had come in contact with a person from abroad.
