After the lockdown, these challenges increased the concern of the country, companies and agents

In view of the increasing case of coronavirus, the government has put a lockdown across the country. It has been two days of 21 days of lockdown. In such a situation, the supply chain for important things is becoming a big challenge. Truck drivers are leaving the vehicles on the highway and going back home. Manufacturers are running out of stocks and delivery agents of e-tailers refuse to go out due to fear of police harassment many have even reported that police demanded them bribe to allow them to deliver their goods. In such a situation, it has become a major challenge for the government and the administration.

Members of the Transporters Association and the Agricultural Produce Market Committee said that exempting freight trucks from highway tolls had not made much difference. The central government’s decision has made little difference, as drivers and helpers started abandoning vehicles in anticipation of a prolonged logjam.

At the same time, Bal Malkit Singh, president of the All India Motor Transport Congress, said that trucks are not reaching their destination, due to which the wholesale market agriculture is now in the grip of shortage of products. He added, “Drivers have started leaving trucks and are now returning to their homes, even if they are 200-300 kilometers away from where they come. We request the center that they ask states, especially collectors, to supply food and water to our stranded drivers. “

The All India Transport Welfare Association says, “We are also in lockdown, otherwise we would have made proper arrangements for our drivers.” The association estimates that about 3 million trucks are stuck on the highways. At the same time, in the FMCG sector, Britannia CEO Varun Berry has threatened that the packaged food industry stock will run out within a week to 10 days, if the supply chain does not return to normal immediately.
