Did Ford just hint an electric Mustang?

Another day, another car getting electrified. But this will be more heartbreaking if you are a hardcore petrolhead. The iconic muscle car known for making smoke clouds and going sideways is getting an electric touch now. And if the rumours are to be believed, it could get an all-electric powertrain as well.
Ford has recently released a promo video for the brand named ‘Built Ford Proud’ that includes actor Bryan-Cranston who talks about how “talk doesn’t get things done, building does.” And as he further says “Building like we have for the last 115 years and building for the next century,” a series of flash clips show Mustang’s evolution starting from the old model followed by the current one and then a blue outlined engine compartment most probably showing indicating a hybrid powertrain. But the most attention-grabbing is the last glimpse where a blue Mustang logo appears on a closed grille normally seen in electric cars.

Ford has already confirmed that the Mustang will get a hybrid powertrain by 2020. The Hybrid Mustang will most likely use the 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine paired with electric motors. Ford says the hybrid Mustang will be “all about delivering V8-like performance with more low-end torque.”
Though there are no official words on the performance figures, reports suggest that the Mustang Hybrid could produce around 400 hp and do the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) sprint in under five seconds.
Apart from the hybrid Mustang, this ad-clip has given birth to a new speculation about an all electric Mustang too. Though nothing has been confirmed yet, Ford might be considering it looking at the pace at which the electric cars are taking over the industry. It might just be a concept, or a thought, or maybe just a tactic to create hype, you never know!
