In the wake of COVID-19 where every possible sector has suffered a shaken ground and lost its equilibrium, the education sector has all over witnessed a new disturbing era. By the end of the February month, the rise in corona positive cases took a huge hop and the concerns all across the nation increased because the reports proved that children and old aged people are worst hit by the virus. So the educational institutes including schools, colleges, universities, training, and coaching centers were asked to pull their shutter down on 16th March even before the declaration of national lockdown (declared on 24th of March).

This was a crucial time in students’ life because every important exam is it board exams or college even semester exams, all were supposed to be taken place at that time. But because of the horrifying outbreak of coronavirus, there was no other option left other than calling it a pause. Students all across the nation got anxious about the government’s further decision about the same.

So lately it was announced that results will be announced and if students who want to reappear even after that government will do the necessary to help them do so. Rest the result evaluation was done with the average of their already appeared examinations.

JEE Advanced is that competitive exam for which the whole nation strives to look forward. The Joint Entrance Exam is a competitive entrance examination that is conducted for admission in various undergraduate Science, Architecture, and Engineering courses in the twenty-three Indian Institute of Technology present in the nation. Hence the eligibility criteria of the same was a real thing. But due to this year’s disturbing equilibrium of examination, there has to some change in its eligibility criteria as well. Generally, the eligibility criteria for admission here demands that the candidate must have secured a minimum of 75% aggregate marks in their Class XIIth (or an equivalent) Board examination or should figure out in the top twenty percentile of successful candidates in their respective XIIth class (or an equivalent) board exams. And those who have reservations in SC, ST, and PwD needed to secure 65% in the same for gaining eligibility.

So yesterday, the Union HRD Minister, Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal said that it has been decided by the Joint Admission Board (JAB) that all the candidates who will be able to clear JEE Advanced irrespective of their marks obtained in XIIth board exams will be eligible for admission in IITs. And this decision has been taken because of the partial cancellation of class XIIth board exams by several boards.

The Joint Entrance Exam Mains or JEE Mains has been postponed twice till now. Earlier it was supposed to take place in July. Now, it has been announced that it will be held from 1st to 6th of September. JEE Advanced on the other hand which is conducted by the IITs themself was previously said to be taking place in August but now has been scheduled to be held on the 27th of September

The aspiring students may have felt motivated by this ease declare by the concerned authority and may strive hard to achieve success.
