In an email addressed to the employees of Air India, Campbell Wilson, the CEO and Managing Director, she restated the goals of the Vihaan program.

A new assessment system called Rise.AI will be available to Air India’s non-flying employees starting next week as part of the erstwhile flag carrier’s digital transformation.

“Our non-flying staff’s new performance management system, Rise.AI, will go live next week. For all of our employees to understand what is expected of them and what they are required to do, it will create a fair, transparent, and fully digitalized assessment system, along with a well-defined job description and specified performance targets.

The new system will also be connected to the Vihaan.AI organizational objectives so that all components support the airline’s shared goals and priorities. Wilson continued that they will also promote and reinforce a shared set of habits.  

Wilson had mentioned implementing a new rostering system starting in August, allowing its employees to switch planes and even select their accommodations during layovers two weeks prior.

Roster systems created by Jeppesen that were supposed to go live in August have already done so.

“I am happy to announce that our first Jeppesen-produced crew rosters for the B787 cockpit crew and our cabin staff across all fleets have just gone online. According to Wilson, Jeppesen is slated to generate B777 cockpit crew rosters in the second part of August and A320 cockpit crew rosters in September.

To decrease last-minute call-ups, the crew should view earlier rosters, improve the integrity of “golden offs,” and better standby supplies. Wilson has previously said that earnings will likewise be more equal when averaged over a few months.

In the following months of the year, further capabilities like the option to register flight or layover preferences and the ability to transfer flights will be gradually introduced.

Air India intends to restore entire crew complements and accelerate training by releasing more than 500 additional crew members into service over the next several months.
