App-based Car Cleaning Service Startup CleanseCar Raises ₹3.5 Cr from Venture Catalyst

Bangalore-based CleanseCar, an app-based daily car and bike cleaning service at doorstep, has received fresh funding of ₹3.5 crore from Venture Catalysts and other investors including Omphalos Venture India LLP, Rishabh Mahimtura, Anil Patel and Vishal Brambhatt among few others.
Doorstep daily car washing service is estimated to be worth $3 billion in India but it is a largely unorganized trade and CleanseCar could be the first-ever attempt to change the game and make it into an organized one. If their plans fructify, thousands of car owners may be happy that their cars are being maintained well. They are trying to position their car cleaning service as affordable and reliable.
Started in March this year by Kalyandhar Vinukoda and Pratibha Shalini, Cleansecar had earlier raised $150,000 in seed funding in September this year, according to data by Crunchbase. Prior to launching CleanseCar, Kalyandhar and Pratibha Shalini were in IT industry.
Starting with just 200 cars, the seed funding allowed startup to reach 2000+ cars and with this fresh round of funding the startup expects to take this to 20,000 next and add more cities in the immediate future and more automotive care solutions such as interior vacuum cleaning, dashboard and console cleaning and shine, interior detailing and rim dressing.
Currently operational is Bengaluru and Chennai, Cleansecar aims to roll out its services in other cities of South India in the next one year.
For using CleanseCar, customers need to download the CleanseCar mobile app and fill in the details and log in to the service. There are several packages being offered for daily car wash at pocket-friendly rates ranging from Rs 499 to Rs 749. The rates vary for hatchbacks, sedans and SUVs and these are monthly rates. Customers can choose water-less wash which makes the daily cleansing of one’s car an eco-friendly process. There are options to pick combo packages of multiple cars and bikes if a joint or a large family were to avail the cleaning services.
The company is operational is Bengaluru and Chennai and aims to roll out its services in other cities of South India in the next one year.
