1.What is the Name of Your Venture? Any specific reason for this name?
EssDee Group ; the name essentially stands for Strength and Development.
2.Who is your target Audience/clients?
We are primarily a construction company undertaking turnkey projects PAN India.
Our focus is to minimize the problems faced by land owners and become their one stop shop for their construction needs.
3.Where is your venture based (city, state, country) & What are your geographical target areas?
Presently we have over 20 live project across the country. Our key operational regions are Delhi/NCR, Mumbai and Goa.
4.What problems does your venture resolve? What are your products or services?
At EssDee Group we realized that customers face a serious trust issue with their contractors/builders. There were no real time updates which the customers received about the project and timelines were not defined.
The NRI market : who essentially want to develop their ancestral properties were scared to hand over their projects for construction as they feared that they will not be able to track it.
We took it upon us to streamline and formulate a platform wherein customers can get realtime updates about their projects. “Build Up” the CRM platform launched by us this year gives our customers realtime status updates. The customer can track their project via an App or website. Additionally, this platform becomes a repository for all construction related maps, contracts and timelines.
With our CCTV monitoring facility land owners can track their project any time.
5.Share the idea or story behind the venture. How did it came to an existence? What motivated you to start your own venture?
Idea was simple ; to bring transparency in the real estate sector. It is this idea which has helped us to sustain even in such a volatile market.
6.Who are your biggest competitors and how do you differentiate yourself from them?
We believe that the market is big enough for everyone and we don’t need to compete to get business. Plus disclosing competition in an interview isn’t the best idea ????

8. What skills Do you want in your employees/team?
We are always on the look out for smart workers rather than hard workers.
Bill Gates once reportedly said that if a hard task is to be performed and he has to chose between a lazy worker and a hard worker he will chose the lazy worker as he is sure to find an easy way of doing it. A similar mindset is followed here.
9.What expansion plans are you looking for the next 2 years, next 5 years?
We target to have 40 live turnkey projects in the next 2 years.

No, we are not on the look out for any funding. Our financials are strong enough to sustain.
13.What were the problems you faced during the starting days and how did you resolve them?
As mentioned earlier, we operate in an industry where the consumer confidence in their construction partner is always low. Thus the biggest game changer for us was the Build Up platform. A perfect amalgamation of tech and real estate.
14.What was the most challenging part of your journey till now? How did you overcome those challenges?
At EssDee every project has been challenging, but the next step which we are about to take will be the most challenging one. So its safe enough to say that the most challenging part is yet to come.
We are an eco friendly company and we are looking to completely revamp our construction processes. Construction activities have been a major contributor to the particulate matter in the air and thus we are presently in the process of going completely green and adopt eco friendly construction techniques.

I wouldn’t say Idol or motivator but I pick up a lot of good habits from many people. So there can’t be one.
19.What do you feel is the major difference between entrepreneurs and those who work for someone else?
I’ll tell you something whats in common ; Hardwork is required in both the places.
Success doesn’t come in easy and I truly believe that people who work for someone else specially in the hardcore Corporate sector do a damn good job. So I won’t give a direct answer to this question as I truly respect every job.
20.If you had the chance to start your career over again, what would you do differently?
Nothing ; the journey has been incredible

It hasn’t, all one needs to do is to organize the chaos.

I hail from the chartered accountancy background and started my career with my article ship at Ernst & Young.

The amalgamation of tech and real estate was bound to happen ; but I am glad that we at EssDee have the first mover advantage and thats our USP.
25. What do you think is the biggest threat to the success of small businesses & Start-ups today?
Loss of consumer confidence. As long as the customer finds you professional – you will sustain. But if you lose that trust and confidence, you can’t be a long term player.
26. Do you consider yourself successful and by what means do you measure success?
Success is always relative ; yes as a company we are more successful than what we were in 2015 but who knows what the future has in store.
