Air India announced its plan to hire at least 4200 cabin crew trainees and 900 pilots this year. The decision has come to notice when Air India placed an order to purchase 470 aircraft from Boeing and airbus. How will the decision be a game changer for the world?

Recently, Air India announced its plan to hire at least 4200 cabin crew trainees and 900 pilots this year. The decision has come to light with the airline expanding its domestic and international operations.

They have mentioned that the cabin crew will go through a 15-week training program where they would train the employees in safety and service skills. They will even be trained to exemplify the best of Indian hospitality and Tata culture. It was stated by the airlines.

The training program would involve vast in-flight training and classroom at the facility of training, Air India in Mumbai, and the familiarization flights.

The decision has come to notice when Air India placed an order to purchase 470 aircraft from Boeing and airbus. The agreement was worth tens of billions of dollars and was signed by Narendra Modi, Emmanuel Macron, the French President, and the US President Joe Biden, declaring the agreement towards deepening the strategic relationship between India and The U.S.

The head of the inflight services, Sandeep Verma, has said that the cabin crew will play an integral role in shaping the present and the future of Air Indi. The aviation company has increased domestic and international flights.

He has stated that adding fresh talents will even help to fasten the cultural transformation in Air India, which plays a crucial role in the Vihaan. The latter involves the AI transformation program. They are even seeking to hire more maintenance engineers and pilots.

Air India has employed over 1900 cabin crew between May 2022 to February 2023. Over 11000 cabin crew have been provided training in the last months. In the last three months, around 500 cabin crew have been released for flying with the airline.

In addition to placing a historic order with Airbus, Air India has mentioned that they had signed a contract for the purchase of 220 aircraft with Boeing, a major player in the American aerospace industry. The agreement states that the airline operated by the Tata Group will receive 190 Boeing 737 MAX narrow-body aircraft, 30 wide-body aircraft, 20 Boeing 787 aircraft, and ten Boeing 777X aircraft. In a statement, the acquisition was mentioned.

The agreement between Air India and Boeing has been further validated by the White House. According to US Vice President Joe Biden, it signifies the strength of the alliance between the US and India.

The agreement was made public after hours when Air India mentioned in a press conference that it had signed a contract for the production of 250 airliners with UK-based Airbus and Rolls-Royce.
The Tata group has been trying to reinvent the fuel-efficient aerospace industry with its order from Airbus and Boeing, which is the largest order by any airline in history.

The acquisition, according to N. Chandrasekaran, chairman of Tata Sons and Air India, is a crucial step towards achieving Air India’s aspirations. The AI-powered program will improve service to international clients.

Is Air India’s acquisition a game-changer in the aviation industry?

Due to the severe turmoil that India’s aviation industry experienced in the last few years, Air India did not do well. The new project with Tata Group shows Air India’s to update its fleet and get rid of its older aircraft. It will give Air India the same momentum to compete with other airlines operating internationally, like Singapore Airlines and Lufthansa.

For their travels through Europe, the US, and other parts of the world, Indian travelers depend on Emirates and Qatar Airways. However, when the new air fleet begins to fly, the Air India plane acquisition will result in a change.

Over the years, Air India has been inundated with subpar services, which has led to poorly maintained cabins and broken entertainment systems.

Furthermore, the agreement has been signed in the presence of the presidents of France, the United Kingdom, and the US, which signifies that it would add much-needed liquidity to their respective economies. At the same time, it would help to create real jobs at a time when the recession is overlapping the world, and artificial intelligence, robotization, and green energy have been transforming the world with each day. Both Boeing and Airbus acquisitions will benefit China, where the manufacturing of the vehicles will be carried out.

Joe Biden has called the acquisition and mentioned that it will help to create one million American jobs across 44 states, and the positions will not require a long, specialized degree.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has agreed with the opinion. He has stated that the agreement by Air India will help to create better-paying jobs. As the dreams are finally coming true with Air India announcing the recruitment of cabin crew, the acquisition can be a game changer for the prominent economies.
