PayTm With KVN Foundation Will Feed 75,000 Daily Wage Labourers

Amid the coronavirus situation, poor labourers and daily wage workers are left with a question mark for sustaining themselves. Their only source of survival is government schemes or generous people who are feeding them daily or supplying them with ration.

Paytm announced to join hands with the KVN Foundation to provide food to daily wage labourers in various cities so that they don’t starve and die out of hunger. The company said in a statement issued on Tuesday that under this initiative, they will provide food to 75 thousand labourers daily in cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and Noida.

Paytm vice president Abhinav Kumar said, “The earnings of daily labourers have been affected due to this lockdown. We want to help them and ensure that their children and other family members do not sleep hungry. The partnership with the KVN Foundation is a step in this direction”. KVN Foundation has launched a ‘Feed My City Campaign’ in Bengaluru on 27 March. Under this scheme, initially 500 people were being provided with food whose income has been affected due to the lockdown. The foundation aims to provide food to 3 million people in the next few weeks.

Around 82,000 people have died due to coronavirus worldwide. At the same time, more than 1.4 million people are infected. Also, over three lakh people have been cured. According to John Hopkins University, about 2000 people died in 24 hours in the US.

In India, 773 cases of corona have been reported in the last 24 hours in India and 10 people have died.

On Wednesday, the Corona virus figure increased to 5194 nationwide. At the same time, 149 people have lost their lives and 401 people have fully recovered from the dangerous Covid-19 epidemic or they have been discharged from the hospital. According to the updated data of the Health Ministry till 8 am Tuesday, out of total 5194 cases of corona virus in the country, 4643 cases are active.
