The ambassador has addressed the concerns and stated that he would convey India’s issue to Berne with all the attention the situation deserves.

The posters showcased in Geneva are a part of the space provided to all the citizens. But, the space in no way promotes or reflects the position of the Swiss Government, he has replied upon further inquisitions.

Many posters coincided with the session of the UN Human Rights Council. The posters allegedly stated that India harassed minorities and women. They were put up at a square outside the UN Building in Geneva.

Alf Heckner has talked about the matter in a brief statement mentioning that the embassy has shared India’s concerns with all the seriousness that the situation calls for. They have noticed that similar posters were displayed in the past during the sessions conducted by the UNHRC. There have been rounds of the alleged video circulating on social media.

The video showed an Indian student bringing out the anti-India propaganda being indulged. The defamation has taken place in a massive area that houses the main UN building and other crucial offices.

The video has received attention from the netizens. One has tweeted that a high level of propaganda against the Indian government has been uncovered. Can the step be considered a new toolkit or a planned preparation for 2024?

The other posters have shared that Indian Christians are facing state-sponsored terrorism, while the other state that women are treated as slaves in the country.

Several posters have questioned the situation of  Christians in India, claiming that the churches are being burnt in the nation. Another poster pointed out that India has seriously violated child rights. 

The scenario has been taking place, as recently, and India has talked about and raised its concern about terrorism, particularly in the African and Asian regions. The meeting was conducted at the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism Ambassadorial-level Quarterly Briefing.

India’s Permanent Representative in the UN has addressed the acts of terrorism and stated that the threat is growing to be serious and real. Despite several attempts taken to bring about transnational cooperation, the threat has continued to spread, particularly in Africa and Asian regions.

It strongly condemns all terrorist attacks despite religion, belief, culture, race, or ethnicity. They have even looked down on terrorist attacks motivated by the hatred of any religions or prejudices.

In recent years, the nation has contributed more than 2 million USD to the UN Office of Counter Tourism. The contributions were made to support the global programs to counter the financing of terrorism and ban terrorist travel.
