WHO warns Coronavirus Crisis is Going to Get Worse and Worse! Global Infections rose above 13 Million!

The head of the World Health Organization has warned that the COVID-19 pandemic is worsening worldwide and things will not return to “the old normal” for a while. At a press conference on Monday, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated that “there will be no return to the old normal state for the foreseeable future.”

The World Health Organization (WHO) warned on Monday that if countries fail to comply with strict medical care precautions, the pandemic coronavirus that is ranging around worldwide will further deteriorate.

Tedros stated that although the outbreaks in many countries, especially Europe and Asia, have been brought under control, many other countries have seen the virus trend go in the wrong direction.

In a virtual briefing from the UN agency headquarters in Geneva, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said “Let me be blunt, too many countries are moving in the wrong direction, the virus remains the public number one enemy”.

If basic guidelines are not followed by people, then this pandemic is going to get worse and worse and worse, WHO head stated.

According to Reuters statistics, the pandemic coronavirus has killed nearly 570,000 people, infected more than 13 million people globally on Monday, rose by 1 million in just five days in an epidemic, and has killed more than half a million people.

Moreover, without mentioning the names of any politicians, Tedros condemned political leaders for providing mixed information about the outbreak that was damaging trust.

Tedros advised the countries to adopt a comprehensive strategy to curb the increasing caseloads in countries, noting that almost half of all the new cases are now coming from the US.

However, Tedros also told that there was a roadmap from the epidemic and even in places with explosive transmission, it’s never too late to control its spread.

The leadership of Tedros has been criticized by US President Donald Trump. Tedros said there were 230,000 new cases on Sunday, of which 80% came from 10 countries and 50% came from two countries. Brazil and the United States have been hit hardest by this pandemic.

Mike Ryan, WHO’s head of the emergency, told that some areas of the US may require “limited or geographically focused lockdown to stop the spread transmission in specific areas where the spread is candidly out of control.”

He said once the virus has suppressed countries could reopen schools safely and not to make schools into a political football.

Tedros said the WHO had not yet received any official notification of the US withdrawal announced by Trump. The US president says the WHO of bowing to China influence, where the COVID-19 infection was first detected, at the start of the crisis.

Tedros also announced the epicenter of the virus remains in the U.S.

Trump wore a protective mask in public for the first time this weekend, but he has been accused by political opponents of not taking the coronavirus seriously, and he denied this.

Ryan said that the WHO advanced team has gone to China for investigating the origin of the coronavirus, first discovered in Wuhan, is isolated in accordance with standard procedures before they start to work with Chinese scientists.

The World Health Organization has affirmed the visit of an epidemiologist and an animal disease expert but has not disclosed any information about their schedule in China.

It is believed that the virus that caused the deadly disease COVID-19 originated in bats and then jumped into humans through an intermediate species (probably an anteater-like pangolin), which is prized for used in Chinese medicine and meat in China.
