What is antibody blood test?

Rapid antibody blood test uses the sample of patient’s blood. Its result comes in 15 to 20 minutes. It takes blood samples by pricking a finger  to see if antibodies are working to fight the corona virus in the suspect’s blood. This test is more effective in people whose symptoms do not appear initially, however, the Rapid Antibody Test does not tell if you have corona virus infection.

This test shows which area of corona cases are increasing rapidly. If the Rapid Antibody Blood Test is negative by the ICMR, then the patient should undergo RT-PCR test. If the test results are positive, then keep the patient in isolation as per protocol, treat and find the people in contact with them.
