India has the highest proportion of two-wheeler owners; in fact, 49.7 per cent of vehicle owners in India own a motorcycle. Motorcycles are still the ultimate machine for daily commuting in India, while scooters are viewed as a necessity for restricted area transportation. The motorcycle market in India is slowly but steadily becoming dominated by bikes with displacements greater than 150cc.

A slew of manufacturers, including Royal Enfield, Bajaj, BMW, and others, are launching new motorcycles in the Indian market to capitalize on this consumer demand. To keep you up to date on what new possibilities are on the way, here is a list of 5 motorcycles that will be released in the Indian market soon. It is important to note that the majority of these launches are for entry-level motorcycles.

The list of 5 motorcycles that will be released in the Indian market in 2022:

1. BMW G310 RR

motorcycles

BMW Motors will launch a new 310cc sports bike in India in July based on the Apache RR310. BMW has teased the next motorcycle by releasing some of the sports bike’s design details. It will use the same 313cc engine and platform as the G 310 R naked street fighter and G 310 GS adventure tourer. The company’s official website is now accepting reservations for the future sports bike.

Here are the Features of the BMW G310 RR:

The bike is reported to sport a 312.2 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with 34 PS and 27.3 Nm of peak torque with a 6-speed transmission. The designer has included extra cuts and folds around the headlight assembly in this iteration, which is not present in Apache. The twin-pod headlamp appears to be a separate unit from the one seen in the flagship TVs. The rendered bike in this image is dressed in the classic BMW HP-livery, with red and blue highlights on a white basis. Another colour choice for the BMW G 310 RR is matte black.

The BMW motorbike is believed to include fully adjustable suspension, which was available as a Built-To-Order option on the Apache RR310. Disc brakes on each wheel will handle the anchoring duties. Full-LED lighting, a Bluetooth-enabled color-TFT display, and configurable riding modes will be among the other features.

An estimated price of the BMW G310 RR:

The BMW G 310 RR is projected to be priced between the G 310 R (Rs 2.65 lakh) and the G 310 GS (Rs 3.05 lakh) (all prices ex-showroom Delhi). It competes with the KTM RC 390 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300.

2. Royal Enfield Hunter 350

motorcycles

Royal Enfield has plenty of other new models in the works for India, the most current of which is believed to be the Hunter 350. The Meteor 350-based bike has been observed numerous times on Indian highways being tested. Furthermore, it is stated that the bike will be available in two varieties (internally dubbed J1C1 and J1C2), with the latter receiving a drum brake, according to our previous story.

Here are the Features of the Royal Enfield Hunter 350:

The motorbike will be powered by a 349cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine, which will most likely be the same engine used in the Meteor 350 or Classic 350.

The RE Hunter 350 pre-production prototype photographs have been unveiled, providing a clearer sense of what the bike will look like. With a single-piece seat and a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, the motorbike has a modern retro roadster design that resembles the Triumph Street Twin.

RE’s distinctive rounded headlight, taillight, turn indicators, and rear view mirrors add to the retro look. Aside from that, the bike is expected to weigh 190-195kg, making it lighter than its 350cc brothers.

The motorbike will be powered by a 349cc single-cylinder engine from the Meteor 350 and Classic 350. It is also predicted to have the same output figures of 20.4PS and 27Nm as its siblings. We expect it to be tuned similarly to the Meteor 350, which is slightly sportier than the Classic 350. According to rumours, the bike would have 17-inch alloy wheels on both ends.

An estimated price of the Royal Enfield Hunter 350:

While the article states that the bike will be priced at Rs 1.3-1.4 lakh, we believe it will be priced at Rs 1.7 lakh (ex-showroom), making it the cheapest bike based on the J-Series platform.

3. Kawasaki Versys 650

motorcycles

Kawasaki plans to release the Versys 650 2022 by the end of this month. The bike has been in the Indian market for quite some time, and the model’s improvements have been long overdue. It should be mentioned that the new model’s appearance and features will undergo significant adjustments.

The new design is inspired by the Kawasaki Versys 100. The improvements are seen in the design of the headlights, graphics, and the newly designed four-way adjustable windscreen.

Here are the Features of the Kawasaki Versys 650:

This new motorcycle will be available with revised styling and features. Among the new features are a TFT instrument console, two riding modes, and a traction control system. The bike’s former power plant will be retained.

Moving forward, the Kawasaki Versys 650 will include technologies such as riding aids and the Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC) system, among others. In addition, the new motorcycle will have two riding modes. The two modes are programmed to meet distinct requirements for a smoother ride under various conditions. Furthermore, the bike allows you to disable the riding modes as desired. The most major change to the model is the addition of a new TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity.

An estimated price of the Kawasaki Versys 650:

Given the upgrades, the 2022 Versys 650 is expected to cost around Rs 30,000-50,000 more than the current Versys 650’s selling price of Rs 7.15 lakh. In fact, Kawasaki India just announced a Rs 70,000 discount, bringing the price down to Rs 6.45 lakh. However, that offer was only available until the end of last month. The new Versys 650 is expected to be available by the end of this month, according to Kawasaki.

4. Eclipse Bajaj Pulsar 250

motorcycles

Bajaj Auto has teased a new Pulsar iteration in the shape of an ‘Eclipse Edition.’ This new bike follows in the footsteps of the Dominar, which previously received a dark variant. In terms of the new colour, every generation and face-lifted version of Pulsar motorcycles has featured an all-black themed variant at some point in its history.

As a result, the next ‘Eclipse Edition’ is almost certainly going to be an all-black styled version of the recently introduced 250 models. The Pulsar 250 is currently available in three colors: Caribbean Blue, Racing Red, and Techno Grey. The addition of the black shade not only makes the palette more wholesome but also maintains the tradition alive.

Here are the Features of the Eclipse Bajaj Pulsar 250:

In terms of engine, the new motorcycle is likely to use the same 249 ccs oil-cooled engine that produces 24.5 PS and 21.5 Nm of peak torque. The same 5-speed manual gearbox is slated to handle transmission duties.

This engine produces 24.1 horsepower and 21.5 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission with an assist and slipper clutch.

The Bajaj Pulsar 250 Eclipse Edition may include a USB mobile charging connector, gear indicator, Assist and Slipper clutch, and other amenities.

The Bajaj Pulsar 250 series is available in two variants: N250 and F250. The naked model of the motorcycle is the N250, while the semi-faired variant is the F250.

An estimated price of the Bajaj Pulsar 250:

The Bajaj Pulsar F250 costs Rs 1.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), while the Bajaj Pulsar N250 costs Rs 1.44 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). They also recently passed the 10,000 sales mark within six months of launch.

5. Zeppelin TVS:

motorcycles

The TVS Zeppelin is a Hosur-based company’s design. However, TVS ideas at the Delhi Auto Expo have a record of bringing it into production, so the Zeppelin is worth a look. TVS has chosen a power cruiser format similar to the Ducati Diavel and the Bajaj Dominar. This format will appeal to a wide range of people. It’s also a format that TVS hasn’t had before, so it makes sense for them to try it.

Here are the Features of the Zeppelin TVS:

Even on its own, the Zeppelin has some very fascinating features: it is powered by a 220cc liquid-cooled engine, but it is supplemented by an Integrated Starter Generator, which may provide extra motive power to the engine.

A 1200W regenerative assist motor with a 48V Li-ion battery complements the class-leading performance. Another benefit is class-leading fuel efficiency. The firm made no claims about power production or fuel efficiency.

Gold-painted upside-down front forks, all-LED lighting, a ‘bio-key’ speedometer, and online connectivity are among the other features. The motorcycle also has an integrated action camera, which will no doubt excite all motorcycle vloggers everywhere.

According to recent media speculations, the new TVS product could be a street-naked version of the flagship Apache RR 310 or the Zeppelin cruiser. The tagline of TVS’s new campaign is “new way of living.” As a result, it is safe to assume that the native brand intends to penetrate a new market entirely. However, the corporation has not revealed what it might be.

An estimated price of the Zeppelin TVS:

The TVS Zeppelin is expected to be launched in India in July 2022, with a price range of 1,14,999 to 1,25,000.
