Here’s everything that was announced in the Budget – and how it will affect Britain’s households

In Britain’s final budget before the UK leaves the European Union, Chancellor Philip Hammond marked the conclusion of the penny pinching that has defined the country’s fiscal policy in the decade since the financial crisis.
“The era of austerity is finally coming to an end,” Hammond told the House of Commons on Monday, delivering what he called a “budget for Britain’s future.”
“The tough decisions of the past eight years were not driven by ideology, they were driven by necessity, and by the failure of the opposing party in government,” he said.
The budget, the first delivered on a Monday since 1962, saw Hammond announce new funding for mental health services, road repairs, and counter-terrorism policing, as well as more money for the Ministry of Defence to battle cyberwarfare. Hammond also announced a new tax on big tech companies.
Here are the main points that might make a difference to your household finances.
